I did search for this but couldn't find it. Really sorry if fixtures

Club Statement

After recent incidents at the away games at Peterborough United and Woking, the club has been contacted, in respect of each incident, by the Football Association to explain the actions of a minority of fans.

As a result the club could now face further punishment, a fine or even restriction on tickets/capacity for Albion supporters at away matches.

A flare and coin were thrown at the Peterborough match; while flares were also used on Tuesday evening at Woking.

In relation to these type of incidents we remind all fans that the club operates a zero-tolerance approach to anti-social and criminal behaviour, which includes throwing coins, and lighting or throwing flares.

Any fans caught doing this either at Withdean or Albion away matches face arrest and/or ejection from the ground - and could face further action from police and the club, which could result in a lengthy ban from Withdean, in future from the Amex and from away matches.

The message is clear: behave responsibly.

Fair comment and the minority may well ruin it for the majority.

Didn't we get a warning over standing at away games at Derby a few years back ?

What happened at Woking ?

Or are we responsible for their fans bringing flares to our ground and setting them off ?

Coins - fair and of course.
Flares - the customer enjoys flares. So work with the customer and go with flares. It is as ever, an attitude thing by blokes with clip boards that are often ex policemen and who now have employment in football. They have no customer focus because they think they should not be questioned because they remember having th power of arrest. They have an attitude and they think they know best. The needs and wants of the customer come last on their priority list. Such an attitude clearly illustrated by Charlton & Brighton restricting a ground with a 28,000 capacity to an 18,000 crowd despite the fact that many more people wanted to go. Thy are doing the same to the FCUM game. If we wont sell or tickets (which is another issue) then anyone with half a brain would work with FCUM to sell them as man as they want.

Personally I don't have a problem with flares, however on tuesday night 1 was dropped in the walkway when people were making their way out. If you wanna light a flare then hold onto it and face the consequences, don't lob it and endager other supporters.

OK I did not see what happened after the game at Woking, we will get into trouble if fans persist with this.

Well said. I have concerns that the sport in general and BHA in particular are trying to over sanitise the game. It's one thing dealing with 2,500 Wall or Leeds but a few hundred Lancs, or BHA or Woking having a bit of fun which may offend less than 1% of attendees is getting ridiculous. Coins - zero tolerance - flares - as long as they aren't being chucked around like confetti then people should take a chill pill.

Until someone gets burned or choked, or panics and causes a stampede? Get over it, flares are a thing of the past.

If said customer were to let a flare off anywhere near my 7 year old son then said customer will have their own flare shoved up their own arse. Fact.

The bloody idiot with the flares on tuesday should be banned for life. There were little kids there for christs sake, and people walking to the food stall and toilets

This is coming from someone that slaughtered someone to the extreme for suggesting an alternative version of SBTS 5-6 months back

Looking at this blog (posted earlier this week) noted this reply from the blogger when asked about the atmosphere

Woking Up The Neighbours | therealfacup

I also read on the Cards forum that the flare set off in their end caused at least one person to black-out through smoke inhalation, because whoever lit it, didn;t get out of the stand on to the pitch quick enough. Shame because it added a bit to the whole event.

Sit down, shut up

The lot of the modern football fan

sadly true but when it comes to coins and flares quite rightly so IMO. Simply put they risk peoples' safety. I can't see how that can really be argued and it cannot be acceptable. If anyone seriously goes to a football game to risk being hurt then maybe they should take up boxing instead
