He's better than Ryan this season, who's been out of form. He's but been better than Ryan in previous season imho

No, of course he wasn't - that's why he was out on loan, learning his trade. Now he is, which is rightly why he has replaced him.

We have scored 11th most in the league.
This keeper would give the confidence to our defenders which hasn’t been there for 12 months.

Agree with this. we concede too many and the defence lacks someone to organise it, also someone to command the box and take pressure off of the central defenders. An experienced keeper with some height and experience would be a good signing.

Meanwhile, United will not extend the contracts of Sergio Romero and Marcos Rojo with both available to leave the club this month.
Goalkeeper Romero, 33, and defender Rojo, 31, are out of contract at the end of the 2020-21 season. United will not trigger the one-year extension option in their deals and will instead look to sell the Argentine duo in the January transfer window.
“Both of them have contracts until the summer and they’re not going to be extended,” manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer confirmed at his press conference on Friday. “So we’re looking for them to find clubs.
“Marcos has been given time to go home, so he’s still in Argentina. Sergio has been back home as well to see his family but he is back now.
“But they are professionals, working hard and they’re ready if they call in for us, I’m sure they’re ready. Marcos will have to travel and do the quarantine before.”

Interesting. I’d take him in a heartbeat

The Argentine goalkeeper who is close to leaving the Red Devils, could land in the set in which his compatriot Alexis Mac Allister plays.

After five and a half seasons at Manchester United, Sergio Chiquito Romero will leave the institution as anticipated by Red Devils coach Ole Gunnar Solskjaer who warned that he will not take it into account and released him to negotiate with other entities since he runs from behind in the dispute with David De Gea and Dean Henderson. With the expectation of his departure, there is already an institution that could be close to making an offer.

It is that Brighton and Hove of the Premier League, where former Boca Alexis Mac Allister plays, was in the footsteps of the former goalkeeper of the Argentine National Team and now a decision they made from the club could make them finally go to the charge for the 33-year-old. The Gulls confirmed Mathew Ryan's departure on loan to Arsenal and a spot was left vacant on the arc.

Chiquito could reach the English team since his desire is to continue in European football and after Ryan's departure, Brighton only has Robert Sanchez, the starter, and Christian Walto. Then, there would be room available for Romero, who has not stopped since August.

We will have to wait what happens to the ex-Racing that, in case of leaving now, the club that wants to incorporate him will have to pay his pass, but in the middle of the year he could arrive for free since his contract with the institution expires.

Sanchez left home at 16 to go wherever necessary to pursue his football dream. He's been hardening up for years learning his trade and gaining different experience. Added to his height, physicality and reflexes I'm not that keen to push him aside for Romero, good as he was in his prime. Now 33 and I don't think he has played this season. Our back three has just got used to Sanchez and we are seeing the benefit. I'm just not convinced by this one.

Ditto.

Huge fan of Sanchez, real talent. It’s his shirt to lose now.
If the coaching staff feel having an experienced backup is good for the goalkeeping team then why not.

I would love this to happen.
I wouldn't.

Exactly - I want our youngsters to come through to the first team and succeed - and be given the chance to succeed. Sanchez has got the jersey now - it's his to lose - so don't push him out!

At his age I can’t really see him swapping the Man Utd bench for ours if he came in he comes to play.

Walton only has six months on his contract.
Sanchez has only played a handful of top flight games
Steele more a squad player

Meanwhile Romero has 96 caps for Argentina...

Got some mixed feelings on this one, on one hand Rob Sanchez is doing well and its great to see him play, on the other hand Sergio Romero is a really, really good goalkeeper and a leader on/off the pitch and Sanchez could probably learn loads from being his understudy for 6 or 18 months. I'd be fine with either alternative. Would give a sour taste if Ryan was replaced by some similar level keeper, benching Sanchez... but Sergio Romero is another level, it would be difficult to say no to that opportunity.

No chance he comes as backup, main reason he wants to leave United is because he wants to play and get his place in the national team back. Not happening if he sits on the Brighton bench.

If that’s so, then my decision would be vastly easier.

I’d sooner stick with Sanchez as our number 1.

Clearly he'd be a good signing but why do we need 4 goal keepers? Why are we collecting players?

Walton is out of contract in the summer, Steele is very much a squad player.

We'd better splash out for a GK then who will deputise for Sanchez if he's injured or suspended, but otherwise won't even be on the bench, because that's Steele's job. Good luck with the recruitment campaign - £10M budget enough? - worth every penny, obvs,
