If it’s good enough for Brockway, Ogdenville, and North Haverbrook then it should be good enough for the Albion at Falmer. #TeamMonorail

I agree. One of the ways to alleviate the problems with public transport is to allow private transport to shoulder more of the burden. I wouldn't have local parking as a free-for-all, you'd need a permit (like the current visitors permits) so that would manage the numbers and stop the area being swamped with cars.

We already have this. I live in Coldean and don't have a car, so it doesn't bother me. But I do have two parking permits sitting on my desk for my mates when they come down. I think they cost a fiver each.

Yeah, we have it round our way too (Fiveways). But as you say you need to know someone in the area. I was proposing to make it more egalitarian.

As someone has already said, have a frequent train shuttle service comprising the maximum number of carriages possible between Brighton and Lewes, say for two hours after each match. London Underground appears to be able to organise something similar for some London clubs.

After each match, terminate all Eastbourne, Hastings and Seaford trains at Lewes for sayone and a half hours. Everyone travelling eastwards from Falmer then gets the Lewes train and there should be no excuses for not filling each carriage. There should be no need for a monorail if the train service is better organised.

To pay for extra drivers of shuttle trains, reduce the cost of the size of the club's travel zone to only include trains between Brighton and Lewes pre and post match. Keep free buss shuttles between The Amex and park and ride sites.

Curently it costs £15 per match to park in a Uni or The Bridge car parks. To encourage car sharing, at the entrance to the Bridge car park or at the main entrance to the Uni car parks, get two designated trustworthy stewards to give a £5 club shop voucher to drivers who turn up with at least 4 people in each car.

Widen, improve and put in decent lighting all along the cycle paths from Lewes and Brighton. Including making it simpler to ride all the way to the bike storage without weaving through crowds, pushing up/down steps etc.

The potential for cycling to and from games is huge, but not the easiest at the moment, despite the cycle path along the A27. I know it won't work for everyone, but it takes all the pressure off in terms of getting to and from games, so should appeal to a lot of us and for a relatively modest investment I reckon the club could massively increase cycling and thus reduce use of trains and buses. Could combine with an electric bike/scooter hire system (once the path is wide enough to safely seperate walkers and riders) for the less mobile.

at home
Makeover of Bridge Car Park into Bridge Transport Hub for buses, coaches, 8-seater taxis, bikes, disabled car provisions etc
The problem is also getting said busses etc away quickly enough and return quickly which really is the issues with park and ride

Unfortunately it is one of the insurmountable problems with having a transport based dispersal policy

Just one we have to put up with

That might get an extra 50 of the bus
