Another vote for Motorway. More work for you up front, but the price they quote is the minimum you'll get (or you can choose not to sell). Our experience, we got a lot more than anyone else was offering through them.

FWIW, at the time we were told that the difference between WBAC and Motorway is that the latter simply acts as an intermediary putting your car into the dealer auction. They then take commission from the dealer who wins, and when they come to pick up the price is guaranteed unless the dealer can find a significant fault that wasn't declared. Pre-Cinch, WBAC were buying the car from you directly and then flipping it in the auctions themselves (hence why they always try to knock the price down - they want to buy at a price low enough that they can be certain of a profit at auction). Post-Cinch, they'll be buying it as low as possible and then selling as high as possible via Cinch (for those cars that meet the Cinch business model).

Motorway - because they work via commission - don't have that business-driven need to lowball the price. In fact, they want to help you achieve the highest price possible - and we found that they made it very easy to do.

When I sold through Motorway I had a sneaky look at the dealer that bought it’s website to see what they had it up for. Surprised that it was only £500 more than they paid me, including a warranty. Given they would have had to pay Motorway commission there wasn’t much profit for them.

Sold my last car to We Buy Any Car, got £1200 more than I paid for it a year earlier. Painless transaction, only got knocked down £100 when I got there for corroded wheels..great service. Sold an older car on ebay, sold within a week for the asking price.

I used webuyanycar recently.

They offered me £4.5k for a 2014 plate audi A3, 130,000 miles. Rough price in autotrader was £5.5k for similar cars. My car needed 4 new brake pads and a cam belt change so didn't really feel comfortable doing a private sale and frankly didn't have the time so it worked out quite well for me, drove to HH station the next day and got the bus home.

The dealer will be hoping that whoever buys it a) takes out a loan via the dealer to fund the purchase, and b) then returns to get servicing etc done, and c) potentially pays for other additional items/services. That's where the real profit for dealers is.

Can't see any mention of cost of selling ...

eBay Classifieds successfully sold my last 3 cars - £10 for a 28 day advert [not an auction] - got a fair price, way more than WBAC was offering

Autotrader was £40 to advertise IIRC.

The beauty of eBay was if you want to reduce the price for the last few days to make the deal you can easily edit your advert
