Copers Cope Road in Beckenham. They have now purchased the Goals site there to have exclusively for the Academy although there is also big kids soft play also on the site. The whole set up is light years behind Albions facilities so be interesting to see what they do.

Apparently the PVA glue they used to hold the stands together has turned out to be a bit shit. Prior to that they’d tried a dovetail Joniesta on the woodwork and that turned out to be utter shit as well.

Does the Academy have a three year cycle, so if they don't become cat 1 in the summer then they will have to wait another 3 years, or did I imagine that?
It would improve stamina and get their legs nice and strong.

The new academy includes a state of the art swimming pool with high diving board.

This is from the original Elite Player Performance Plan in May 2011. If it still applies, it would suggest existing academies need to be independently audited at least once every three years. However, I can't imagine that same three year cycle would limit the ability of non-Cat 1 clubs from applying (at any point):-

Not going to view that as anything with Selhurst in makes me queasy, but to be fair a little roof clean at the Amex is probably going to have to happen at some stage

Looks like a takeover could be happening.
Crystal Palace are reportedly on the verge of of confirming a £215million takeover of the club.
The takeover could be finished before Christmas, though the process of the deal is expected to drift into the New Year.
The report also states that the new owners have come from four different groups who were courting the club in the summer.
They included a bid with links to former Manchester City owner Thaksin Shinawatra — and another based in America.
Interest in the summer reportedly stalled when star player Wilfried Zaha handed in a transfer request
However, Palace have started the season well and sit 13th in the Premier League table following yesterday’s unfortunate 2-1 defeat to Liverpool at Selhurst Park.
Josh Harris and David Blitzer, the American financiers who are in co-control of Palace with chairman Steve Parish, have wanted to sell for some time.
It is understood the consortium aims to buy the whole club, including Parish’s 18 per cent holding and the stakes of minor shareholders, at a cost of about £185m.
Clearing £30m or so of debt would take the initial value of the deal to £215m.

I'm no fan of Palace but that isn't the stand that is being redeveloped.
The new stand will be the one all us plebs in the crappy Arthur Waite stand will have to look at (if and when it is built!!)
"for some time" - it's still not even four years since they bought in. That smacks of a short, sharp dose of "oh shit - what the **** have we done here?"
