I see that once again we are all walking right round the stadium from west stand to coach park. I recall this as a recipe for chaos as we met east and north standers going for trains and the bridge car park.

It seems to me that with the away supporters being held back anyway, it would be better to get weststanders away quickly anti clockwise straight to the coach park. At least that could be done for immediately after the match until the away fans are released.

I agree.

I know the opposing view is that is this day and age we should freely mingle, hooliganism is a thing of the past. But it isn’t, hence the huge police operation and the revised walk you mention.

Last season against Palace when we came out of the East Stand and turned left towards the station there was a dangerous log jam outside the North Stand.
I'm not sure why it happened but it's the only time I've ever felt under any type of physical pressure at The Amex.
Yep the only danger to anyone was the organisation of the stewarding the OB I spoke to outside admitted to me it was a mess

For me it was the only time at the Amex that I felt alarmed. That was the nearest I have come to being crushed at Amex. There were women and children crying . Yet the powers that be seem to have fobbed it off. The mix off east stand going to the station and west and north stand going to the coach park and park and ride is a recipe for a crush or worse

Are they going to check everyone's ticket and ID again? If so expect long queues

Any advice on where’s the best place to catch the buses back into town? From the bus stop up by the broadcasting compound or on the A27 by Falmer station? Any likelihood of away fan trouble at or getting to the stop by the broadcasting compound? Thanks in advance for any advice.

Works fine for me but all different experience. Makes sense too and means a Nigel free zone on the whole.

Definitely the A27 by the station. Never that busy, frequent service and you will be going with the flow of the supporter traffic

SS outside the ground is blocked off. So leaving the WS or NS and wanting to get to the buses, Falmer Village or Village Way …. you’re compelled to walk past the ES.

There were barriers across the walkway from the chip stall to the edge of the stadium and anyone coming out of the north stand there was being sent round via the east and south stands to get the the train station. However when you got to the south stand the stewards were sending everyone back down the way they had come. No one seemed in charge and it was chaos. Just needed a steward with 2 brain cells to open the barrier by the NE corner so the families could get to the train station.

It was so bloody unnecessary and ended up dangerous. Then hoards of police barging people and shouting the wrong instructions.

But apparently it was all in control.

Still confused is there a map released by club in advance to help and where is source of this info? Surely just keep the scum in SS for half an hour and every1 can walk wherever they want. Sorted. Whats the point of a one way system anyway?

Found this on the club site: Palace travel

However it states 'clockwise' not anti-clockwise. I don't get what is different? I leave the ground, walk down the long steps by the West and towards the North and then past the station towards The Bridge. That's what I did last year and that is clockwise?

What am I missing here?
