I've just watched the first episode, of 4.

And jolly good it was too.

All star heavy hitting cast.
Bucket loads of intrigue, crossing and double crossing.
It obviously has plenty more to give and looks great.

Definitely well worth a look, if you go for political conspiracy theory type drama.

it was slated in the reviews. however after a slow start, I too really enjoyed it. Looking forward to Wednesdays installment.
It wasn't slated on 5live, or by The Sunday Times.

I thought it was a great start and (a long way to go yet) could it yet have enough slippery characters to remind me of the untouchable 'House of Cards'?

However, so many great dramas fall apart by a rushed final episode, so I hope this is different.

That'll be due to Charles Dance doing a very good impression of Ian Richardson.

Reckon that's the best political thriller and what a character FU was.

Then there was 'I, Claudius' suchclassic skulduggery (& probably buggery!)

Just watched the second episode, and it's definitely still strong.
Maybe a couple of pieces of dramatic license, but hey, it's still good with no sharks being jumped.

"Walk with me"

And the news in the last min (no spoilers) really has the potential to notch the story up some more.

The jump for DPM to voted in PM, all happened a bit quick.
Although I wouldn't complain about a 4 week long election cycle.

He would not have had to gone through a general election, it would be just like an internal promotion as far as his party were concerned with maybe a vote amoung their MP's

Yeah that's how it should have been but not how it was portrayed.
Lots of talk of approval ratings, the people deciding, Dance saying 'the only man to have pulled that off'.

Not the talk of a bitter (which is what I would have been, with old sour face in the running) promotion.

Still loving this.

It's always great to see an arse kicking, no nonsense, Prime Minister.
It's just a shame we never get one!.

Next week is going to be one exposure after the other, until Gabby B jumps into bed with Ginny McKee!

If you liked this, you would like 'A very British coup'. It's available on 4OD. Very different considering they're both based on the same novel. A good watch.
