These were for pretty random stuff though. As I've said above, in retrospect I'd have snapped up something like handball but at the time I was disappointed not to get the stuff I am particularly interested in. A lot of these tickets were grandstand events for stuff that was free as well.

Because funnily enough the popular sports were popular so you had far less chance to get them.

Both handball and beach volleyball were available both of which have been big hits.

Got no sympathy for sport snobs who are moaning now.

I was lucky enough to get 4 hockey tickets and 4 football tickets in the first ballot however i enjoyed watching the sat and sun road race and the wed time trials more than anything. People that are really keen to watch an olympic event should have gone to watch the many free events going on around the country...

Marathon, triathlon, Boating (weymouth), roads races, time trials...

There is enough there...

However still think they f***ed up a little with the spare seats..

Yes, but why should some people have tickets for every day of the velodrome/boxing and I get none? I would have no problem on having missed out on tickets if they were allocated fairly.

There can't have been many people with multiple days at the velodrome, it only seats 6,000 to start off with!

I know of one person who went to 3 days. But ok, so someone who has a day at the velodrome AND a day at the athletics. You get what I mean!

I dont understand this, there was a group of only 20,000 people who didnt get tickets in phase 1 or 2 who had first dabs on tickets in phase 3 on a first come first served basis, surely if you followed the process through all the phases you would have ended up with some tickets? Failing that there were loads of tickets going on the foreign sites (cosport, sportsworld) even up to only a couple of weeks ago and thomas cook packages for as little as £99.

Mind you saying that Im must admit I was lucky to get Super Saturday, unforgetable experience!

But within the lucky 0.6m people, a mass of these were those trying for football which were very easy to get.

We tried to get athletics, cycling and swimming, and got none.

Seb Coe was asked previously (by London Assemby) about what percentage of athletics, cycling and swimming tickets were available to the British public by the ballots. He answered that he's not prepared to say.

The bottom line is that it was incredibly hard for the average British punter to get tickets to these, due to the very few made available.

No it was incredibly difficult to get tickets for swimming athletics and cycling because they were the most popular events. Wimbledon tickets are difficult to get for the average punter but thats life.

With every major sporting event there are tickets allocated to supporters, associations, sponsors etc and the Olympics is no different. Most of it would have been stipulated in the contract.

I was lucky enough to get velodrome tickets in the first ballot, had a thoroughly great time. I would however have enjoyed the great atmosphere for two gold medal wins more if the block of NINE seats (at £95 each) next to me weren't empty! I kept thinking some half interested zlist celebs might wander in after the qualifying simply to watch the finals....... but no, they stayed empty. Such a shame.

Just managed to get myself tickets for the Womens Hockey Bronze Medal Match tomorrow (GB vs New Zealand) and Mens Basketball in the evening, USA vs Argentina, via the ticket site. Both £45. Unexpected bonus, glad I have a kind boss willing to give me tomorrow afternoon off at such short notice!!

I enjoyed my time in the Olympic Stadium on Sunday to see the men's 100m final etc etc and now I am enjoying writing out my cheque for nigh on £1500 for the 2 !!!! tickets. So don't feel too miffed about not getting any......

and you can still get tickets for the paralympics

I had no tickets when it started but have managed to see 6 events inc football,beach volleyball and swimming

We applied for the original ballot, the second and third for loads of events (albeit looking back I would have applied for less popular sports, I just never imagined it would all be so popular for qualifying sessions etc) and didnt get anything. So we spent hours and hours online last week, refreshing the web page, adding tickets, seeing them disappear etc etc. Eventually we got 2 stadium tickets for saturday mornings session which was amazing.
So there you go - I think everyone I know who has tried really bloody hard has managed to get tickets to something in the park. It just takes a lot of effort.
