Apologies if this is covered elsewhere

I’m sure in previous seasons anyone wanting to renew their ST by DD didn’t have to do anything and it automatically renewed.

The link on the Albion App prompts you to fill in a few pages, complete your bank details, elect for monthly or annual DD, etc, etc. it also says you can renew on behalf of F&F but didn’t list any for me (I have about 10!)

Am I missing something or should I wait for a renewal pack to be sent via Royal Mail?

Renewal deadlines and Direct Debit payments

Season ticket holders who pay by Direct Debit do not need to take any action as their ticket will automatically renew, with the first instalment coming out on Friday, 1 April. However, the club does encourage supporters to ensure their details are up to date on their MyAlbion Digital accounts. For full details, please click here.

Lump sum payers should renew their season ticket as soon as possible, and no later than 5pm on Monday, 7 March. To renew now, please click here.

Please note, after Monday, 7 March seats will be released and will be offered to fans on the waiting list.

Supporters can pay online or convert to Direct Debit, paying by interest-free monthly payments or in one lump-sum annual recurring payment.

Full details of the 2022/23 season ticket will be included in the renewal pack, sent by post early February, with season ticket holders also receiving further information by email this week.

Thanks Daz. Not sure what I was looking at but I’m glad I bottled it at the last minute and asked on here! I suspect the club was pointing us in the direction of updating/checking our details.

Does anyone know why you can't do a direct debit from a credit card (American express) & it has to be a bank account / debit card? Thanks in advance

I asked this, and was told they couldn't do it because that isn't a direct debit. Direct debits just cover banks. For them to do that they would need to run it through every month.

If I have been paying by direct debit, but have cancelled my ST, will the DD payments automatically stop? Or do I need to get in touch with my bank?

The last one for this season will go out 1st March and then should stop.

They tend to set up new direct debit each season, leaving last seasons to expire / sit idle. Won't do any harm to cancel the direct debit once the last payment has gone though, should be able to do it via online banking easily enough

Presumably it is more expensive for them. I have Netflix and Amazon Music on direct debit from my credit card so it can be done if the retailer is prepared to pay. I think it’s probably a bad idea though for more significant payments like a football season ticket.

That’s not a ‘direct debit’ though - it’s just recurring billing of a credit card

I think the reason a reoccurring payment isn’t offered on a credit card is because once the card has gone past it’s expiry , a payment can’t be taken . With a DD there no expiry date unless you chose to set one .

Yep - plus direct debit at Albion scale is probably minimal cost - recurring card payment probably 2-3%.
