The travel subsidy would be worthless for a greater proportion of visiting fans than for home fans, so we might get a bit of bad press if this did happen.

Not sure about that?

a) A lot of home fans can make their way their on foot/cycle (well, I guess that would apply to Manu fans too!*)
b) It is supposed to pay for everything (footpaths, car parks, bus stops, etc. and therefore benefit everyone.

*IF we were to get promoted. I'm still not at all confident.

Everything in life seems to go up. Except our wages. All to pay over priced footballers, that much more in salary.

It is never enough really is it.

Indeed, but people always seem happy about it?!

Seems fair enough to me.

Note that if an existing ST holder wants the pricing outlined in the release (as well as guaranteeing their seat at all), you have to renew by 15 March (i.e. before we know which division we'll be playing in next season). They've not specified what the pricing will be for new (or late renewals) ST - I'm guessing that it'll be substantially more than what they have published so far if we're playing in the PL.

I think by March 15th we will have a very good idea of what division we will be in next season , 8 matches before the deadline. So if we are still 5/6 points clear of 3rd place with 9 games to go considering the 4 home matches left you'd think we would be pretty much certain of Top 2 and who wouldn't renew then ?

Given the number of touchline bans being handed out to PL managers the increase in prices for PL games could be offset by having Wenger or another manager sitting next to you next season as they serve out another ban

When you change an age group do they automatically change your ticket and DD or do you have to instruct them...?

Love the confirmation that there are NO additional season tickets.

Hate to think what Barber is going to charge for a matchday ticket in WSU though...??? Guesses....? 20% increase will put it over £50...

Fair call, unless there's a late season collapse or massive injury crisis. Can't remember the last time we had one of those at the business end of a season though...

Four games fewer (< £0.6m) offset by an outrageously lucrative TV deal (> £100m)...?

Must admit I was expecting (or maybe hopeful) that it would be this kind of price rise if we stayed in the Championship but a price freeze if we went up.

Gate receipts will be such a small fraction of the income the club will receive in the Premier League that I doubt this increase even hits 1% of the increase in revenue?

Along the line of my thinking. Gate receipts in the Prem represent a tiny proportion of overall revenue, so the increase will not even be noticed by the club but is a big hit on those paying (if you subscribe to the real cost increase of c20%)

I'm not really grumbling but I don't really get the logic outside of supply and demand which feels pretty poor given that it is being applied to an extremely loyal set of 'customers'. It's the nature of the game I guess and unlike any other segment of business

I can see far more logic for hiking prices if we stayed in the Championship given the very limited opportunity of raising revenue in any other way

If (IF) we go up, then three things are certain:

1. Everyone who has a ST now (most of whom have held them for at least 5 years), will renew their ST for next season.
2. The attendances will be around the 28-30K mark, as they have been for all big games since the stadium reached it's current capacity.
3. Palace fans on here and twitter will delight in sneering at all the 'new fans that have suddenly appeared'.

Paid for mine all in one go, saved up for it. Works out for me at 21.50 per game for Champ football or 26 per game for PL league football all from the front row of the WSU. BARGAIN.

BTW, if/when we are promoted, there will be fewer home matches, but I bet MORE of them are on Saturday afternoons.

(My son's ST will defo be better value for money)

I was about to post the same, if we go up we will only be on TV a couple of home games so the only other effect will be if we get scheduled to play any of the Europa League teams which will get moved to Sundays after a Thursday match - unless we do a Leicester..............

The club are also taking the opportunity to update the T&C's too. A quick comparison (I'm not claiming this is exhaustive) shows the following changes:

"3.2...Any Guest attempting entry on a concession ticket to which they are not entitled will be charged a further £10 cost on top of any upgrade cost and may be refused entry."

"3.6 The Club reserves the right to cancel or relocate Family Stand season ticket holders, in the event the associated junior/concession season ticket is used for less than 25% of the home league matches, this will be assessed after ten home league matches have been played"

in 5.2 in 16/17, if you lost your ST the club could charge you £5 admin fee, that fee is no longer specified...

There are now four more things that the club can take your ST off you for, as well as as a few others where they have provided more clarity. The four new ones are:

"7.1.2 being (or appearing to be) intoxicated"
"7.1.5 the possession of a banner or flag that bears material or slogans that are offensive, obscene, abusive or racist"
"7.1.9 whether at the Ground, or, travelling to or from a Match:
o 7.1.9.1 the use of foul, obscene, abusive and/or racist language and/or gestures;
o 7.1.9.2 the chanting of anything of an indecent or racist nature;
o 7.1.9.3 fighting or engaging in and/or inciting violence"
"7.1.10 bringing into the Ground (or using within the Ground): illegal drugs, other illegal substances, fireworks, firecrackers, smoke canisters, air horns, flares, laser devices, bottles, glass vessels or any item that might be used as a weapon or compromise public safety"

"8 All Season Ticket holders who enter the Ground acknowledge that photographic images and/or audio, visual and/or audio-visual recordings and/or feeds (and/or stills taken therefrom) may be taken of them and may also be used, by way of example and without limitation, in televised coverage of the game and/or for promotional, training, editorial or marketing purposes by the Club, the Premier League/Football League , or others (including commercial partners and accredited media organisations), and use of a Season Ticket to enter the Ground constitutes consent to such use."

"9.2 Neither the Premier League/Football League nor the Club shall be responsible for any interruptions and/or restrictions to the view of the Match caused by virtue of (a) the position of the seat and/or (b) the actions of other spectators."

So - you can come to the games providing you're not drunk, don't use the wanker sign at the ref or the away fans, don't sing the Posh Spice song and don't expect a steward to do anything if you can't see a single minute of action. I exaggerate for effect of course, but technically any one of those things (except the last) could lead to a removal of your ST.

Actually I disagree:

Those who come by coach get free parking - many clubs charge official coaches over £20 to park - in theory a saving of about 50p per fan on their coach fare
Those who use the P&R get free bus travel to and from the ground
Those who get the train can save by just getting a ticket to Haywards Heath - saving of around £5

Seems reasonable-ish. Why the increase differential though? Why are some 2% and others 5?
