Just far enough away from LDC
Similiar to this for me now. Eldest son now 18 so a big jump and as a student it’s a lot to expect him to pay but it is what it is and we will do it. We’ve really cut down on food and drink but the later kick offs make it more challenging.
Perhaps with the increase revenue they can reinstate a permanent third park and ride!
I'm in a similar boat. As of this summer its 3 adults and 2 u18s. We use seagull travel so that's a cost on top (yes it's my decision amd one i am considering revisiting for this renewal)..we also take my daughters friend who has a ticket elsewhere near us with her dad who travels in from elsewhere.

When my middle son is over 18 in 2 more renewals time we will likely need to move from family stand and the costs will grow exponentially unless we have our daughters friend added officially into our group.

This isn't a moan btw it's just the 1st time I've needed to look and realise the cost /implications of the kids growing up.

It could be worse, we could be owned by David Sullivan (not sure if the video will play on here, hopefully it does 🤞)..

Personally hardly ever buy any drinks at the ground and never have food.

So you will be happy if we make another whopping profit this season?
(By selling Pedro, Mitoma and Baleba)
???
Not particularly, I think we'd all prefer to have been watching a Ali Mac, Caicedo, Baleba midfield trio this season but that's not how we operate as a club. I trust the strategy of the club and expect the next batch of players to come through when the current trot off.

You're in absolute cuckoo land if you think a 5% rise in matchday revenue will contribute anything to the playing squad (it's around an additional £1.25m in reality) and that because the club are putting up ST prices they're going to suddenly be able to stave off interest in our best players. Is there genuinely anyone on this board who doesn't think there will be sales this summer regardless of anything that happens? We could qualify for the Champions League and we'd still be happy to keep the squad ticking over and maximising the profits - it's how we operate.

My point was that the rises contribute so little compared to the money we have brought in, and will continue to bring in, that there is really very little reason for it outside of greed.

I think I might knock it on the head and just start to buy a few tickets here and there and as and when.

Heart's not in it at the moment. I'm sure that will change.

This will always be my club and I love watching the stripes play, but something about the relentless focus on numbers just isn't turning me on. I'm sure it's connected to wider political and social issues. Big football is losing me.

(Tune in for next week when I change my mind as getting off this drug will be hard.)

It's not even just how we operate - any player capable of playing at a truly 'big' club is going to want to go, regardless of whether we want to cash in. That will never change - we're just a lot higher up that pecking order now than ever.

Likewise here.........Feb home games Sat 8th 8.00pm, Frid 14th 8.pm,Tues 25th 7.45pm. Don`t exactly convince me to renew when the other option is warm house, sofa and watch games on TV.

Presumably thought the same about Europa League games

Trouble is, it gets increasingly hard to find an affordable like-for-like replacement without the quality being eroded to a lesser or greater degree

Last season, I sat in my actual seat the grand total of once. That's because there were always 2 spare next to my mates which I plonked myself in. They were never available to buy. If the rules are to flush that sort of ST holder out then that's no bad thing albeit I do have sympathy with those who go week in week out caught up in this by mistake, illness or whatever.

You are right, Liverpool is usually busier. With Liverpool fans
Exactly - what if a STH is unwell, in hospital has a family emergency and/or jury service. To punish a fan thats paid upfront for the seat seems wrong. How can you possibly list your ticket on the exchange by 2pm.day before if you say wake up unwell? You buy a ST then gamble on attending. I very much doubt a ST buys a ST to not use it. Lets be honest here the system the club have set up is designed to make money on top of money already paid for the same seat. Money for old rope.

This is a situation where financially the club may wanna take note I say financially because lets face it EVERYTHING they do has that motive ONLY (it may be indirect of course) that if the coming of age fan drips out (cant afford the increase) both club and fan lose out so would that be better served with easing the rise in like a young person price inbetween the two OR do the club feel they are in a favourable (AT THE MOMENT) sit where supply demand favours them and they dont care sumone ese will fill that seat? I suspect its this latter but should the club ever struggle in PL or be relegated fans have memories

You’re quite unlikely to not know you’re on Jury Service by 2pm the previous day. There aren’t many courts sitting at evenings or weekends either

That is most definitely a like for like comparison. Chelsea in the fa cup and league and Bournemouth in the league are clubs we have often played and although I'm going, I am unenthusiastic about the cup game. Compare that with Marseille, Roma and Ajax, clubs with a large European heritage of success and also clubs we have never played and may never play again. Incomparable.
