Wasn't there an agreement at outset of subsidised rail travel had to be included wasn't that part of the deal for the stadium built at Falmer?
Yes but I suspect only for a certain length of time

The walk-up residents that use the P&R sites as their own personal free version of Seagulls Travel will definitely be disappointed next season.

Oh well, anyway

“free”? Paid for within our tickets.

The only freeloaders are folk with no interest in football who who use park n ride to visit family in Falmer village on match days/evenings

They don't though, the service is included in their ticket.
This, it makes absolutely ZERO difference how you get to a P&R site and, in fact, locals who walk to one of these aren’t on trains or public buses.

I think the clue may be in the name PARK & Ride. Never mind lads, you had a good run for your money
Of course, but is there anything to stop anyone not even a supporter but someone e.g. living near a park and ride that wants to visit a friend at one of the Universities for example getting a 'free' ride and walking up to the park 'n ride but obviously not parking?

The people liking the idea of bookable/chargeable P&Rs or those that think fans who live outside the Brighton - Falmer - Lewes trainlines will just have to get on with it. Will be the same people moaning about the empty seats and fans leaving early.

Can’t see how SASTA will police tickets, never worked before. Would be a safety hazard at Brighton station to not open the gates as well surely

I wanted to get a ST for me and my boy last season but couldn't figure out how. Still in the market for this season, we've missed three home games this season so would like to think we have a chance. Is it just the case that they send out an invite if you're eligible and you aren't eligible if you don't get the invite, does anyone know?

That's a great record. I would like to think you're a shoe-in.

(And once secured in February, you can stop going this season - joke)

You haven't paid for the service anymore than someone else with a ticket. There will be fans who have contributed through their ticket to the cost of running a PARK and ride service YOU use but walk or cycle to the ground.

could be done on a basis of random checks and of course you will get a percentage of ppl that laugh at that and a certain percentage that will make sure they pay up even though they know the chances of being randomly checked is once in a lifetime more likely never! Agree though would be a hazard if gates are shut and need tickets to open you will just get ppl pushing through its impossible to police there isn't for example physical room getting off the train at Falmer.

Maybe some accounting thing to do with Tax Years? The current one end on 5th April 2024
Nothing to do with tax, company accounts are not taxed on 5 April basis but year end basis. Payments for next season will be treated as June 25 income not 24.

Purely cash flow getting people to pay early, although I suspect they hope to get everybody onto DD as less likely to cancel If your DD goes up £10 a month rather than £120 in one go

The people moaning about walk ups to the P&R are exactly the same person as always complains about overcrowding on the trains!

It must be costing far more withmore games Europe etc and the distruption of trains Ican see a gradual phase out of all travel included in your ticket. Starting with non PL games i.e.cups Euro friendlies
That is fine as long as they reduce the ticket price which is included.
