I don't follow the argument that says "We're doomed - I'm not going".

That didn't keep me away from the Goldstone in 1995/96 or 1996/97. And we were a sight more "doomed" then.

may be John Byrne is bored, I am bored of withdean, I did not re-new, I'll miss leeds and any decent cup draws and I'll pick and choose this year. If that makes me a bad supportere then so be it. I did my do or die for the cause at priestfield with the other 1999 die hards.

Nobody on here should be made to feel like a bad supporter. Most have done their bit, one way or the other. Truth is, the club has got to make itself attractive to the town and county as a whole, not just the same 5,000 people who have supported it in recent years, and who are just about squeezed dry of surplus funds now. So it's down to the club to engage the whole town by serving up football that people want to see. Oh, and a roof - the importance of which should not be under-estimated. I know there's reasons for the non-roof scenario :bla: but risking killing off the pensioners in the South Stand every Winter doesn't help anybody. Once there's a green light for Falmer and LDC f*** off back into the woodwork for good, then first priority has to be investment in the playing side. and a damn roof - or at least a super-tuff free poncho for everybody in the South Stand, family section etc.

You had one free poncho, do you think they grow on trees?

Great idea, let's all do it and then we can watch the club die, just as the yes decision comes through for Falmer.

BAD FAN.

Surely you know that you should always re-new your season ticket even though the football is shit and the facilities are shit.

Even if you don't re-new it NEVER EVER admit to that on here.

Sadly, you are right..................too many on this board think this is a club just for the chosen few.

Most STH who have to miss a game through holidays, being sick, work, weddings etc. have to just GIVE the tickets away. Sometimes it's a struggle to even do that

exactly, and it's one of the most depressing things i've ever read when put in that context :(

not wishing to be over negative here, but why do people think that once we have the green light, we will be awash with funds. We have still got to get all the tenders/builing works/groundworks etc etc in place before a brick is laid.

If we are 13 million in debt now, and we get the green light, we will be at withers for at least 3 years more = approx 3 million loss per annum = 16 million in debt before we even think of builing and financing a 50 million pounds+ stadium.

I assume that we will tread water as best we can, relying on loans and small purchases, with the hope that one or two youngsters will make it and bring in some extras....say Lynch and Cox. I cant see any other way we will continue.

That is why I am not all that fussed about getting people in....get everyone fit and this squad will keep us up....whatelse matters?

Some of us would rather not have to endure 4 years of shit football like the last one until Falmer is built....you yourself weren't exactly over positive about it this year. A bit of an improvement would be nice - improve the playing side, play better football, sell more tickets - less debt.:)
