I think there’s no grey area here, whatever number choice manager he is, it’s the biggest gamble in the clubs history but that’s what TB has made his fortune out of, he either hits the ground running, injuries are minimal and his refreshing brand of football ‘wrong foots‘ a few in the EPL, and we win a trophy either this year or next, or it all unravels fairly quickly, whether he’s sacked or not we go in to the tailspin and Boxing Day 2025 we will be playing Pompey in the Championship.

Ever the eternal optimist and with a pair of blue and white specs that would put Elton John to shame I’m going for the trophy option, and if that’s the Conference League next year, who gives a shit 😂👍⚽

As others have said, nothing would necessarily be a surprise.. I have gone for 11-14th given we have a tricky looking start and 0 points after 3 games wouldnt be a huge surprise. That could knock the confidence a little, putting pressure on the games that might look less challenging than the opening few.. and so it begins .. nerves could be shredded or positively flying and Europe could be a magic target again..

Sussex but not by the sea
I'm going 7-10th but it's a big ask. Our newbies (inc the manager) need to fit in straight away.
If you offered me 10th now, finishing above 'them' and going deep in a cup I'd take it.

Gross , bonny and gilmour leaving.

Squad feels weaker at the moment. Rookie manager.

I have absolutely no idea how this season is going to go, could be a total disaster, could be amazing- so for that reason I’m saying mid table 🤣

7 to 10th I'd hope but we're shipping experienced players again for untried players. If we lose many more I can see us in the bottom quarter. March and Ferguson recovering would be a big boost.

Are Minteh and Wieffer “untried” ?

In the Premier League, yes they are.
Yes obviously but it’s meaningless as a way to calibrate our signings - Wieffer is very different to Yalcoure or Gomez - but they’re all “untried” as were Gross, Caicedo , Dahoud etc.

Feeling my usual pessimistic self. 16th?

At times such as these, I refer you to my signature.

Whereas, I'm expecting us to win 1st 2 against Everton and united! 6 out of 6 will give us confidence🙂
