It is playing but just dead air, looks like they've forgot to press the button again!

When I've calmed down, I shall write a considered critique of Premium TV's woeful, messy, IKEA flat-pack club websites, and the service they provide to millions of fans in the UK and overseas.

It's as if PTV were being asked to provide, out of the kindness of their hearts, some amateur link-up facility between church halls in far off villages, rather than a professional service for fans of the biggest - and richest - sport in the world.

Cheltenham link now 'working; though virtually inaudible - sounds like SW Radio from the 1950s!!

You need to be careful who is to blame. As far as I can tell PTV have accepted responsibility only once, and gave me a months extension to my contract.

Most times it is the commentary team that do not push the appropriate button. I have lost count of the times I have had to ring them directly at 3.00. It then generally comes on straight away.

This is just incompetance.

Like you it really jerks me off the service the Premium TV provide, it's bloody disgusting. I don't think Premium TV care no matter how many complaints you make, that is if they even read your letter.

What annoys me the most is the login process, followed by another login, then hassle to obtain a stupid licence, and then to top it off the comm comes on late.

Who is responsible for ensuring the comm gets turned on, is it Premium TV or the club?

If it is the club, I shall text the after show programme and get them to get their act together.

Picture this: you're the matchday commentator, anxious to maximise your audience. Why on earth would you keep forgetting to 'press the button'?

Or, you're a techie, at PTV or the radio station engineer. How difficult is to make an automatic switch facility? Or failing that, don't these guys even have watches, or mobiles with alarms that could be set for 2.30, 2.45 or whatever. Problem solved.

It's this dreary, unending, bungling amatuerishness that just totally astonishes me. I shall Google this a bit. Maybe a fans' united pressure group is needed, to force PTV to deliver to expectations.

Views?

Dead silence here. Reloaded WMP, IE7 etc but still nothing but dead air.

It is clearly a usage rights problem but I don't know what the answer is. Nor do I know what I'm paying for.

When I complained last time Paul Camillin and Tim Duddin at the Albion were the people looking after this.

As I reported elsewhere, I was told that they would in future have a laptop at the ground to ensure that coverage was going out - if it wasn't thay would sort it immediately.
This system seems not to be working.

To their credit they gave me a teleophone number to ring if the commentary is not on, and it is this I do regularly.

Since some people have the commentary running and others do not, this is unlikely to be a problem at the club's end. It's got to be a question of the set up.

I know when I'm playing 'commentary' and all I get is dead air, if I right click on the file in Media Player and select properties, it tells me the file is missing usage rights. I've looked at the 'help' section on SW and done everything it suggests but it makes no difference.

Here is the contact person at PTV:

David Pilling
Customer Service Manager

He has been helpful and is still trying to resolve who screwed up on the Brighton vs Swansea game about a month ago.

Commentary team blamed PTV, and PTV blamed commentary team!

This is a technical problem which is IN ADDITION to the general lack of commentary. A double whammy!
