Looking forward to seeing whoever turns up in Foleys on Friday then. Any memorabilia you want to chuck my mate's way, then please do. Shaun Clancy is his name. He'll either hang it up or stick it to the wall.
As for my Sister's memorial wall in there, have a look at this tribute to her on the CNN website if you'll excuse my indulgence of her. But when you get the Albion mentioned on there and her favourite swear word, then it's worth a look.

Just to add, look under 'A final note' near the bottom to read about her.

Friday will come too soon for me, but lets definitely plan a NY drink fest in the not too distant future. Funny enough, I talked to Wardy last night and I am sure we can get him to come up. He will love a few free beers and all of us telling him that he is GOD.

Please keep in touch and let me know where and when. I'll call him and see if I can get him up.

He loves anyone who will buy him a beer. He is very much under the thumb though and Jakki hates him going away without her. She has to work this weekend so don't expect to see him.
I'll call him now and try to bully him into coming up.

Just got back from a week in New York, included the Calzage Jones fight. First visit to NYC and absolutely loved it, already plannning going back again.
I know of at least one seagull living in Brooklyn cos he came in a pub i was in near madison sq garden on saturday night as he saw me in Albion shirt. 3 or 4 other people shouting out seagulls when they saw the shirt also in madsion square garden.

That would have been Me !

Gravvy fight by the way - hope the flight home was OK

Eek! Some expat friends of mine live in Willamsburg, big Albion fans but not on NSC.
They live on Manhatten Ave. very near the Mark Bar if you know it?

I've worn the stripes to the shea (rip) many a time and was amazed how many people shouted SEAGULLS at me :lolol:

I'm back over late Jan/early Feb - lets meet up somewhere?

Im living just off Driggs so not too far away....

Will keep an eye out for the stripes in Mcarren Park

Check out BBC America tonight 10 to11 – two episodes of “Extras” – best bit was seeing Vinnie Jones threatening to beat up Ross Kemp !

Hello again!!! good flight home, just shame we had to leave, already planning visit next year. Fight was brilliant, great atmosphere, had a group of twats in front of us from Grimsby who were managing to give abuse to everyone sitting within in 10 meters of them.......after a few words were exchanged they shut up before Calzage fight!
Brilliant week, loved the place.....surprised how much beer is in Manhatten tho! Hope your appartments sorted and jobs going well.

Hi Guys,

I'm not an NYC resident, but I've visited a few times and absolutely LOVE the place. My question to you is:

How easy is it to emigrate and move out there ? What sort of time scale are you looking at from starting up to moving out there ? Any ideas will be really welcome guys !!

There is nothing better than watching the yankees playing baseball, in the late sunday sunshine, drinking a beer and chilling out.

Best way is probably to apply through a British company that has an office in New York or an American company based in the UK which can transfer you. I came over on an E2 visa, valid for 5 years, which is basically an economic visa and makes the whole interview process easier. Also, it helps if you do a job which doesn’t have an equivalent in the States – I’m a quantity surveyor which doesn’t exist in the States. Check out this link Category:USA Immigration : British Expat Wiki , it’s a very good site and gives you the lowdown on the various types of visas and lots of practical advice on getting work in the States. Be warned -it can be a fairly lengthy process (9/11 didn’t help) but you’ve just got to keep plugging away. Took me about 6 months from accepting the job offer to getting out here. Hope this helps. Good luck.

Cheers !! Do you have to have a job offer agreed prior to getting an E2 ?

Yes – the company making the job offer will normally sponsor you and arrange the E2 visa on your behalf, including a meeting with an immigration lawyer who will brief you on the interview process. As the E2 visa shows you have a job ready in the States it’s unusual to get knocked back.

Are you anything to do with the cricket club?
