All the club are saying is if you definitely want your ticket register as a Gold member for one game only and you will get your ticket automatically

It will debit as soon as it is confirmed and load the ticket to your smart card.

They can't collect by direct debit as it would take too long to process and if it were to bounce the game would already be over.

Ah, right. Cheers. That sort of makes sense. Still won't be jumping through additional hoops in advance tho. Expect my seat to be reserved for a limited time if/when we qualify for the play-offs.

Why won't it I pay for all three of our tickets under this scheme already. So you are happy to pay £14 more than you need to. That surprises me.

Maybe some of us are thinking, what's to stop the club pushing this further in the next few seasons by pressure. Not every wants to go to every cup game, or they may want to sit somewhere else in the ground for the game. The idea of the membership scheme suits the club, as the know that all STs are sold before any draw in a cup is made.

Then don't renew it next season and buy your tickets as normal. Nobody is forcing you to join they just don't want the system crashing when 24,000 people try to get their seat in the 24-48 hour window for doing so.

If you read my post, I did say its just for the playoff game, and where do you get the 24,000 people from, as it seems a vast majority must be in one of the cup schemes. It's not hard to get a ticket in a short window, and if it is then its the clubs system/staffing levels that are the problem. Maybe they could have access to the internet 24 hours instead of shutting it down overnight. That is a strange system, I can book flights, cinema tickets, concerts, holidays and anything else you like to mention 24/7, yet I can not book a football ticket for Brighton at 2 in the morning.

I can't do this because for some reason they are incapable of sorting my sons age category out. Every single cup ticket since we've been at the Amex I have had to phone up and complain because they have my son as an under 18 and not an under10. each time they say its been changed and then I have to go through the same hassle again as there is no change. LAst time it came up as an adult for renewing his season ticket so couldn't do that either. I don't trust them to take the correct amount so will have to do it over the phone when (if) it comes to it to ensure I don't get over charged.

Then you are reading it incorrectly. The money will be taken automatically for a home ticket if we make it. There is no cost for Gold membership.
I know because I have been a Gold member since last July.
When the season ends, so does the membership. I will have to re-register again in July.

So basically the club are saying the following...

"You can secure your home ticket for the play offs now and avoid the queues."

But they've been a bit clumsy about the way they have marketed it.

No Gold Membership is renewed every season, so it is just for this season's playoffs. It is for cup games. Playoffs are counted as cup games.

Platinum membership is for away games as well.

You enrole each season nothing forcing you to do so next season.

If you want to risk not getting a ticket to a possible play off semi final because you fancy sitting somewhere else then more fool you. Its ONE GAME (admitted it probably won't even happen) but that game is 3 working days after the Forest game, its not like last year when we were guaranteed a play off slot well before the final game the season. The club are trying to help those supporters who fear big brother by trying to get as many STH's with their seats in place so the phones don't go into meltdown at 9pm on tuesday morning.

It's all a bit ambiguous IMHO. I logged in as myself to enrol, provided my card details, and ticked the association box to enrol my son (also STH) at the same time. Then got an email thanking me for enrolling, and confirming that payment would be taken for any game I was 'due to attend'.

No mention of my sons enrolment, and no confirmation that his seat ticket would also be purchased on my card at the same time.

You totally missed the point, my post acknowledges that it is for one game, so no point in repeating it. I made no mention of being signed up for next season and not really moaning about getting a ticket for the game. I am more then confident of getting a ticket without having to sign up for any membership. My point was in the future, the club may well push the membership on people and then that's where choice goes out of the window. I choose not to sign up to a membership, because I want the freedom to decide:
A if I want to go to a cup match.
B if I go, do I want to sit somewhere else.

I have not seen anything to suggest the club will FORCE STH's to purchase cup tickets you seem to be getting stressed about something that has never been suggested.

Yes 100% correct. 3 seasons at the Amex & I have signed up for 2 auto cup schemes & 1 gold membership.
