Following the dreadful coverage from ITV, I'm thinking (again) about subscribing to Player. Is the coverage generally any better? I know there are planty of exclusive interviews etc, but it's the match highlights that interest me most. Worth it?

Personally, I think it's good for the price, especially if you use the commentary as well. (as you are out of SCR coverage) when you can't get to the game.
I only ordered it when I was away for a few important games & have kept it since.

Normally minimum of 5 mins highlights regardless of the game, opposition etc. Commentary is woeful but you can live with that. Seeing as Im away at uni loads of the time its a lifeline for me, always want to see more than just the goals you get on BBC etc

The match highlights are usually about 5 minutes long. Better than you get from the football league show, but not by much. I'd say that the highlights are the weakest part of Player. The good parts are being able to listen to every match commentary, watch Gus's and the players pre and post match interviews, the podcasts are interesting and give an insight to our players personalities and Harty's interviews are excellent. If you can only get to 10 or so matches a season, as I do, then it is a really good service and keeps me in the loop to a certain extent. You can also listen to every other teams Player, it was useful recently when I was able to watch Noone's play at Plymouth. For £40 a year its a no brainer for me.

But the interviews (especially from Gus) are worth the £3.99 a month alone. Highlights from youth matches too if that interests you.

The interviews with Gus and sometimes Tanno are easily worth £3.99 a month-only gripe from me is the delay in getting to see the highlights. It's also good to be able to log on to all other clubs' Players too.

Good value in my opinion.

Its a shocking liberty take!

for my £3.99 a month i want a live stream beamed especially to my laptop so as i can get to see the mighty stripes every week as i jet-set between
Larkhall and Glasgow.
And the commentators should speak to me personally and call me sir!

Apart from that its worth every penny imho!

not overly impressed with the highlights if I'm honest as they aren't particularly extensive but worth every penny for the commentary and for Gus' interviews. Way more consistent than it used to be.

I have had seagulls player for 6 months or so now. Not sure if i want it though. I like the Harty stuff on there and also the ''come dine with me'' special was pretty funny. Does anyone know if they are doing a follow up?

£3.99 a month i might as well keep it.

well worth a quid a week for the Gus interviews alone.

Throw in improved highlights and features on other players then i'd say assuming you can afford it, get it. It's not a neccessity but it's nice to have it there.

Worth the money, I also use it to listen to other League 1 sides that play midweek when we are not playing
