Worthing
Now I know a fair few on here are keen fishermen, with most being the :fishing:
wind up type.

But I'd like some advice/recommendations please for going out in a charter boat from either the marina or Littlehampton.

There will be myself and my 11 year old boy, who both have never gone fishing from a boat before. We're used to going off either Worthing pier or the West arm at Shoreham.

I know the prices ( around £55 each ), it's not that I'm after, but more recommendations on any boats/skippers that are ok with inexperienced deep sea newbies and know where to go , and also is it worth buying our own bait, or buy it off the skipper?

My lad has a 10ft rod (mine's 12), but I'm guessing this would too long for a boat.

I've got my own boat rod ( 1m in length ) and a decent reel, so I'll have to hire my boy's.

Any other info, for example ground or wreck, end tackle etc would be great. Cheers

Cheers guys. Tight lines and happy :fishing:

At Home
just a word of caution, ask the person you book with what the policy is on the catch.
A few years ago two friends & I went out on a boat from the marina and caught five fish between us, out of a total catch of seven fish, there were four groups on board (making a full complement) when we got back to the marina the captain then proceeded to divide the catch between all groups saying that they had payed the same as us.
When I lived in Rotherham I used to go regularly off Whitby and it was always keep what you caught and if you didn't catch that was the risk you take.

Went with this guy very good

Littlehampton is ideally positioned for anglers as well as divers to gain access to some of the best sites along the South Coast. Away from the hussle and bussle of the Solent, Littlehampton offers some of the South's most experienced skippers who in a very short time will have you either diving on some of the premier dive spots along this coast or take you spots that can produce some of the best fishing available.

Please find attached contact details of vessels that ply from Littlehampton all are certified MCA.

How would i know?I'm pissed.
I would recommend Dave Elliott(Ocean Warrior3) or John Goldsmith(Sea Leopard)...both out of Newhaven.
Damn good skippers who will put you on the fish..There are stacks of wrecks out of Newhaven and these guys know their stuff.
John once told me he had come over a wreck on the way in and it was stuffed..he didn't have a wrecking party the next day so told us about it ..4 of us took our boat out there the following day and had over 400lb of Cod in an hour...Cheers John:bowdown:
