Lets face it your in a false position. You have played 21 games 13 at home.
Of your 8 away games you have lost 3 not excactly promotion form is it.
Had it not been for a penalty save you would be even further behind us
& you come on here giving the big i am.
The table doesn't lie you fool, yes we didn't have the greatest start apparently due to some poor handling from Pardew in pre-season, but don't forget who the favourites have been since the season began. Even when we were mid table some experts were still touting us for the title. You'll fall away soon enough, then you'll all be calling for Poyets head. I see also that you are struggling to fill your tiny little stadium for a cup game v Pompey LOL!!!!, what a funny little club you have

I must say that the patronising "little club" remarks do raise a titter from me, when they come from a Southampton fan. It's almost as if the years of you playing at the worst top flight ground ever (apart from Plough Lane) and failing to sell it out even when you were second in the whole football league didn't exist.

Please, if you want to take the piss out of our lack of success historically compared to yours, then go right ahead. However, Southampton calling us a little club sounds laughable, especially when next season we won't be all that different. Save that nonsense for Bournemouth or "Bompey" as you have sweetly christened them.

:laugh: Next season we won't be all that different.........aside from the fact that we have loads of cash and will be challenging at the top end, while you are scrapping against relegation you mean? :lolol: When we were 2nd in the old 1st division (83/84) our capacity was over 30,000 you can only dream of crowds like that. I'm sorry but some of you lot are embarrassing yourselves with your comments, and that thread about Arsenal....WTF !!!?? :lolol:
Good luck in the Play-offs Brighton !!

Made up fact alert!
I swear you had gates of 18,000 in that 1981 season. But if you want made up facts, how about these gems:

When we were 2nd in the old 1st division (83/84) our capacity was over 30,000 you can only dream of crowds like that.
Blatent lie. Your highest ever gate before St Marys opened was only 31,000 and that was back in the 50s. Meanwhile we had a half a dozen gates over 30,000 in divisions 2 and 3 back in the 70s and 80s. Be honest, you don't know anything about football do you? How old are you? 14?

I'm not getting into a squabble with a child. But in the 1980s, your comedy ground did NOT hold 30,000. I should know, I went there dozens of times seeing as half my family are Southampton fans. Now jog on. :bigwave:

P.S. Seeing as you know the facts about your club, can you confirm your highest gate in 1983/4? I'm guessing it was under 21,000.

Do you? 'Capacity over 30,000' and then you go on about 'crowds like that'. Make your mind up was it you capacity or was it your attendance. Bless

He's the ultimate teenage keyboard warrior. He's been itching to use words like "moron" despite not actually making any sense. Probably because he wasn't actually born in 1983/4, let alone have a clue what he's on about. :lolol:

The Dell could just about hold over 30,000 before it went all-seater. However, like the Goldstone, that only happened on very special occasions and everyone was dangerously crushed - like the cup tie with Man Utd in 77. I think in the season to which you allude the ground was virtually always "full" but I doubt it ever reached 30,000 or more. TBH a dick measuring contest regarding crowd attendances is pretty pointless until both clubs have broadly similar ground capacities. FC have been getting 20k+ in the third tier which is more than some premier league clubs, but conversely it dropped to less than 17k average when Lowe last took over again....still not bad. When both clubs are back in the Championship then dick measuring contest will be more relevant, although if both do well it is likely that SFC will have bigger crowds simply because their ground has a bigger capacity.

First and last warning for Saints fans...

We're largely a tolerant bunch here and, unlike many forums, we don't immediately ban away fans as soon as they show their colours. We also allow lots of banter which is, after all, a big part of the game we all love.

However, if you resort to juvenile abuse, or start trotting the out the same old tired homophobic shit, you will be banned immediately.

Enjoy your time on NSC. As is the case on the pitch, this board is almost certainly a lot better than the Saints equivalent.

Fact: Brighton were the 12th best supported team in the country for the 1977/78 and 1979/80 seasons. The first of those, we were in the second tier and didn't even win promotion. We came ahead of first flight teams like Everton and Sunderland.

I could be wrong, but I doubt if Southampton were ever in the top dozen supported teams in the league, even when they were doing well in the old First Division.

Given your shit away form, you stand quite a good chance of losing against Dagenham, so I wouldn't get too excited just yet :lolol:

Look mate we were shit for 90% of this season and we've still managed to catch up. We're still not firing on all cylinders so it's only a matter of time till we're top!
Small club like you won't go the distance anyway especially when poyet leaves. Lucky to make playoffs!
