It is obviously not so commonly reported in the local papers nowadays.

As I said on another thread it is good that you never hear rumours of who we are interested in until they actually sign. The one exception being Sidwell.

In the days of John Vinnicombe in The Argus most weeks it said Chief Scout George Aitken has been away watching a centre forward, or whatever position, believed to be so and so.

Please get it right I am not being critical of MM just passing an observation.

If it is reported who they are watching then we will have even more competition for players!

I wonder how good MMs scouting network is as every time we read of a player coming to us it is on DK recommendation or a friend of his e.g McShane, Reid, Ilwelumo Turienzo came via friend of Liam Brady (friend of DK)[/B]

I accept that 100% but nowadays the supply of young home grown talent is greater than ever with the number of foreigners in the top teams so it should be no more of a worry than it was in the 60s 70s etc.

There should be an abbundance of talent for us to home in on perhaps not Chelsea Arsenal Man Utd etc but certainly at our level.

To answer another point is it that DK is a 'more hands on' chairman than most on the playing side of things.

Didn't Lord Baden Powell write a book called "Scouting For Boys" - not sure it would stand the test of time now :lolol: :lolol:
