Just watched Blackburn - West Ham on the telebox here in the Big Apple. Scott Parker had another good game including an excellent run into the box which lead to the Hammers' equalizer.

He really should be in contention for an England start, particularly given our paucity of talent at present.

I said this before the world cup and during it but nobody listened.

Scott Parker is a class act and should be in the England squad.

Class player and must leave west ham next month!

I think he gets the attention he gets because he is at West Ham - big fish in a small pond. He struggled at Chelsea, when it was an opposite scenario. I'm all for Parker for England but I'm not sure he could be as consistently good at a bigger club, if that makes sense.

In place of whom?

Gareth Barry. His recent performances for England have been shocking and he is the slowest player in international football. Or Lampard.

He definately deserves a chance, quality player who has been under rated for years and never got a fair crack for Chelsea. He can tackle, pass, has a great engine, scores important goals and always gives 100% for whoever he plays for.

Parker is a superb box to box player who never stops working. However, his passing can be poor at times and it's been suggested that this is the reason he isn't in the first England 11.
Good luck with your new club in january Scott because you're far too good to be playing with the present shower of shite !!!

Maybe I missed it but I didn't see a big thing made about Parker not making the world cup squad whatsoever?

Walcott? Yes Parker? No, don't think so..

Still quite a lot of people said parker should have gone, must have missed it all. ??? :albion1:

Football-wise the biggest mistake he made (and being a bit of a smartarse I said so at the time) was going to Chelsea. I saw him play for Charlton before he joined Chelsea and he was brilliant. Then when he escaped and joined Newcastle he was rubbish, absolute rubbish. God knows what they did to him at Chelsea but it set him back five years - I just hope the money was good. Gradually he improved and by the time he 'escaped' Newcastle he was almost back to where he was when I first saw him. Haven't seen him play live for West Ham.
