Grass isn't his best surface and he waltzed through the early rounds. Nadal currently leads 8-3 between the two of them.

Murray will kick himself for losing some crucial points when he could have done better. There is no shame in going out to Nadal in a semi-final of a major tournament.

I can't bear the grizzling of those that furiously tap away on their computers about Murray insulting the England team. There was some gentle ribbing about Scotlands failure to qualify and Murray played along with it.

He is a thoroughly decent chap. He is a popular player and both Federer and Nadal have said that he is one of the most difficult players to play against.

He's achieved far more in a short space of time that all of his 'critics' will ever do. I reckon it is only a matter of time before he scoops a big prize.

If I have read this right, you are comparing a loss to the best player in the world (and potentially the greatest palyer ever) with England perhaps losing to Peru or Morroco?

Comparing it with England losing to Brazils 1970 side may be a little closer to the mark???

Come on now, Nadal is nowhere near being the best player ever. Until he has won all four majors you can't even begin to talk of him as such. Federer is still ahead of him in the all time stakes. As are Agassi, Budge and Laver. Missed some, there is also Perry and Emerson. Making Nadal at best the 7th best ever, and Sampras has won more majors so is ahead as well. So, Nadal may be in the top ten of all time.

You did say potentially though, so maybe I am ranting for no good reason. I'm tired and irritable, I think I will go to bed.

Silly old bat
Murray is the world's number 4 which means that he is likely to get to the semi finals of grand slams (which he did)
He lost to the world's number 1 player. No surprise there then.

I can't understand some peoples' hatred towards Murray. He is one of the most talented sportsman Britain have had for many generations and some idiots decide to loathe him for a little bit of banter that got blown way out of context. Ridiculous.
