School Torture, has it changed much?

Just wondering if methods of torture at school have changed much over the years. I'm classing it under two categories,
1. By the teachers
2. From or against your charming schoolmates

Most of my teachers (all boys school) were raving psychopaths, methods used to meter out punishment included frenzied attacks with the blackboard ruler or carefully aimed blackboard eraser. The cane (right on the ends of your fingers) and (Ikid you not!) a hammer lobbed at you by the metalwork teacher.
From or against mates included, dead-legs, wedgies, woodies (bang on head with knuckles, nothing sexual!).
All tremendous character building stuff, I mean who can honestly say they haven't burnt down a major public building, I know I have!

sounds like the eastbourne grammar school i went to. the only difference was that the woodwork teacher (bodge mallin) used to hit us with a golf club (driver or 3 or 5 wood)

My woodwork teacher used to throw chisels.

Nobody dared try any of the classmate derived stuff on me, being a good 6 inches taller than anyone in my year in second year of secondary school and being the tallest in the school by third

Was at Thomas Peacocke... boarding at Leasam House for three years in Rye. Such fun as being locked in the double glazing. Being shot at with air pistols, locked in cupboards.... being forced to put your hand in the hot tea pot or threatening to put it in the steriliser.. cigareete burns..... and completely forgotten the name but being whıpped with a wet tea towel twisted up....what fun!!! And the worst was being invited to watch TV in the housemaster's flat...............PERRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRVVVVY!!!! Don't think anyone fell for that!

In the first week at the new school, one of the older pupils blew up the toilets with a fertiliser bomb. I was impressed. I had not even found where the toilets were. That was Boundstone.

Catholic schools were great. Getting your head flushed down a toilet, and getting punched in the face both by teachers where 2 of my particular memories of a certain Goring school.

Mind you I was a ****.

I've not experienced any of that - but I doubt its happening anymore given the behaviour of the little SHITS on the train on the way home today. All obnoxious shouty, ignorant, selfish, beligerent little fools. One even told the conductor to shove his ticketing machine up his arse, after some pathetic little "what you looking at comment"!! I contemplated shoving my boot up the little shits arse but decided my boots were worth far more than him...

No kids are scared of teacher these days. Well except maybe in the lower years (year7, 8), but teachers have such little powers these days, no wonder a lot of kids are running amuck.

6th form is much better, but university even moreso. Good to be in a class where students actually want to learn, rather than secondary school where half are uninterested, or just plain lazy.

I`m not sure knocking seven barrels out of the kids is the way to keep discipline personally but some teachers I know (and I have maintenance contracts at 2 secondary schools) are just not up to it.

The old system was bullying pure and simple.

Learn (do as you are told) or I bash yer brains in.
