Ever been on one? Personally I could imagine few things worse than meeting a ton of people you haven't seen in 10/15/20 years and never really liked that much in the first place.

School reunions - top fun or awful shite?

Never been to one, can't honestly say that it would ever enter my head to do so, although it would be nice to meet one or two of the people I grew up with from the age of 6 till I left home to find my way in the World. I doubt if almost a quarter of a century later we would have much in common. I imagine by my age it would descend into comparing the number of marriages and children you have produced (I have done neither), how big your house/mortgage/car are...mine are more than adequate for my needs/frightening and modest...so, nothing particularly remarkable or dare I say it...interesting...guess all my former class-mates are much the same, don't think we need to waste time meeting up to confirm this.

It would depend on if the girls had to turn up in those tight little uniforms... Although they will probably all be SAGGING out of them by 15/20 years on which may not be so nice...

How soon is now?
I made the effort to keep in touch with the people that I wanted to!
I've met a few people that I went to school with who have since become friends for the first time(we wern't the first time round) - otherwise, horrendous shite...

I got stalked by a girl I went to middle school with, about 7 years ago. We met via Friends Reunited, I shagged here a couple of times and she got really clingy - even threatening to move back to Brighton. Partly my fault I guess as I should have just had a drink and f***ed off, but that did it for me - never re-visit past glories, unless she's:
a: hotter than she was at school.
b: single
c: quite obviously not mad as a bag of spanners
And just for clarification, she was none of the above!!

I managed to get along to one of mine when I returned home a couple of years ago...

Only stayed half an hour or so to make a point - but it was flipping fantastic!

Sharon V. who was skinny and suntanned - is now about 16 stone and wrinkled beyond recognition with a fag hanging out her mouth and aparently 3 kids to 2 different Dads....so the fact that I owe her a real pasting for her bullying and kickings she issued out to me really have been paid back when she realized who I was...like they say in the ad - priceless!!

A couple of the guys who I used to be good friends with (I was sport billy and a tom boy) had a completely new way of looking at me - finally realized I was female I think! Shame they never me their potential - one sells hot tubs and the other still trying to be a golf pro at 30....both want to be more but couldn't be bothered...

Really nice for the ego to see people do a double take when they realized who I was - especially those who gave me such a hard time at school - or even a pasting - glad I was never brave enough to get them back as some of them have got their comeuppance through life....

I went to one (16 others in my year) and I was the only one married, with children, staying at home rather than working and was made to feel like they had burnt their bras for nothing and I should have some high flying career and whatever. It was a horrific weekend.

It was interesting to see what the ugly girl, pretty girl, loner etc were like now though but I have no desire to go to any ever again.

Never been on one but would quite like to. I'm still friends with five people I was at school with (one of them posts on here) and I'm on nodding acquaintance with a few more but would like to see what happened to all the associated freaks and weirdos.

Unfortunately, I won't be able to see what happened to the girls as I went to an all-boys school. Girls started arriving in my final year: I think there about a dozen in a sixth-form of about 100+ but I wouldn't recognise many of them (apart from the one I went out with, obviously).

All very well - but I wonder if any of them thought similar about you?

Possibly, but to be fair I spent so much time thinking about them when I was younger and how much I wanted to be in their groups and be as popular as they are - that having seen them now, and seen their genuine suprise at how well I'm doing, then I don't care what they think anymore....

School reunions are great.

We've had one every five years (just our year, not the whole school) and I think we've had five.

Once every five years is enough to catch up with the people you were not close friends with. Those you want to keep in touch with you do.

There were a few people who attended the first one or two who have not come back. A bit intimidated I think by how well certain people had done. But unnecessary as no one was boasting about their accomplishments.

been to 2.
About 15 years ago and was all about those turning up going on about how well they had done. At the time i was working nights, had worked the Friday night and had been up all sat, including an Albion match, so was dead on my feet. Not a great night.

Went to another about 5 years ago and that was much better. People were more relaxed and, although i didn't recognise many at 1st, after a few drinks the conversation flowed and many old memories came back.

Of course, people exchanged emails, telko's and addresses but there's only 1 or 2 who keep in contact of a minor degree.

I always thought that men aged better than women but the girls were quite impressive, but I suppose those that went to seed didn't turn up!

I do know of somebody else (not from my school or even Brighton) who went on to shag half her class (men) from Friends reunited.
