Weren't Scarborough the first club to be automatically promoted to the Football League, as opposed to the old re-election routine?

Yep first club to be promoted to the league rather than elected back in 1988 to celebrate the 100th year of the football league. Took the place of Lincoln City who became the first club to be relegatednout of the league.
