Surprised that there isn't a thread on this - the mass execution of 81 individuals, who were probably beheaded, must be condemned. Among those executed are those who held 'deviant beliefs' and 'allegience to terrorist oganisations' (i.e. fighting against the Saudi dictatorship).

https://www.aljazeera.com/news/2022/3/12/saudi-arabia-executes-81-people-in-a-single-day

Among the victims were 7 Yemenis (to add to the approx. half a million Yemenis already killed by the Saudi regime in its ongoing bombardment and airstrikes against Yemen).

Will we hear outcry and demands for the owners of Newcastle to be sanctioned - or will the FA allow the Saudi Media Group to buy Chelsea from that corrupt Russian oligarch Abramovich ?

I would not be surprised if they had been putting a lot of these off till the Newcastle deal went through, and have cleared the backlog, for want of a better expression, in one day. I can't imagine that they will face too much criticism at the moment, if they up oil production to keep the prices down a bit. The sooner we get away from dependency on oil the better.

Then the dependency shifts to Lithium for car batteries - and guess who has lots of Lithium ? - that's right - Ukraine

Don't forget, coming up this Saturday lunchtime its live coverage from Deera Square in downtown Riyadh for the Stoning of the Gays, on the state news channel Al Ekhbariya.

Sadly there is no Newcastle game to transfer to. Instead, we'll followed the live beheadings of 11 Saudi dissidents. And then the brand new drama: 'Khashoggi - He Had It Coming', with special introduction from Newcastle chairman Mohammed bin Salman Al Saud, and Amanda Staveley talking us through the infamous graphic bonesaw scenes, before an exclusive preview of the highly anticipated game at Tottenham Hotspur.

Stay tuned!

I demand that the owners of Newcastle are sanctioned.

Australian government has just published the results of a survey asking muslims if they have ever been subject to islamaphobia , 78 % said yes ....surprise , surprise , surprise ......nothing wrong with a mass beheading at all is there but islamaphobia must be removed from western culture , it really is only fair , shirley.

Afghanistan also has tons of the stuff. Still can’t see the electric car thing taking of for years though infrastructure will be very problematic.

Do you not go out very often? They're everywhere and the infrastructure now exists to support them all.

That's a rather islamophobic post. What does a Lebanese, Bosnian or Bangladeshi muslim immigrant, or their offspring, have to do with beheadings in Saudi Arabia?

Right so first off I'm not happy about this post under the thread title, but as nobody else seems bothered I shall continue.

Yep, thankfully CARS get infrastructure at a moment's notice.

1. Who has suggested that there is nothing wrong with beheadings?
2. Beheadings are pretty much removed from western culture -
3. Surely eradicating Islamaphobia (along with any other prejudice) is a decent enough goal for western culture (with very little beheadings).
4. Why do beheadings in Saudi Arabia mean that Australia can't look at Islamophobia?

The over arching lesson from the whole Ukraine crisis is surely that we can't just carry on burying our heads in the sand and not consider the human cost of where we get the raw materials which run our lives.

The idea that Boris is off the speak to the Saudi's to get more oil off them beggars belief.

The only sane conclusion is to have a national discussion about how we can massively reduce our dependency on petrocarbons, which of course we have to do anyway, as A they aren't infinite and B, we've legally committed to do so.

That's no accident in this thread, is it?

The challenge we have is our dependency isn't just fossil fuels, it is increasingly going to be rare metals from lithium to cooper to cobalt to de-carbonised our economy. That aside we must take this route

All those posts you make as if you've got some kind of balanced worldly view compared to everyone else. Then you are capable of typing this.
