Sad to think that nations like this are the ones our lovely old country will have to cuddle up to in our post-Brexit world. Expect not a breath of criticism from the blessed Theresa.

What's different from a pre-Brexit to a post-Brexit world?

From the article:

Most of the Saudi Arabian side are Muslim and the custom of pausing for a moments silence to honour the dead is not common under Islam. Instead, it is custom to pray for the dead, give to charity on their behalf and remember.
Yeah I read that, that's quite different to "The article states it is not Islamic to do this". It's not common, doesn't suggest it's not Islamic. The latter suggests it's perhaps a bad thing to do, so they'd be right to not do it.

Because they are human, and should show respect for the dead!?

Perhaps they had already done that?

But there's still nothing wrong with respecting the minute's silence... it's not haram!

The Saudis are just being thick IMO

saudi's can do what they want....when they want.....they don't have to observe a minutes silence for murdered people if they don't want to....why should they...?? ffs , what's wrong with you people...?

Why would you not though? Do you think the England team would fail to observe a minutes silence for any other nation if they played them?

Considering the game was IN Australia and the minutes silence was in honour of Australians that died in the attacks, it's pretty disgusting that they didn't observe it. Can you imagine if that had happened at Wembley?

True... but it is not much to ask them to observe a minutes silence... show me where it says not to do so in the Quran... thought so...

Spot on... those arguing for this poor behaviour on here show no understanding of common decency... much like the disrespectful goons that they are supporting...

Perhaps they were just not well informed, could well have been a communications/language issue. Stop jumping to bloody conclusions.

Are we going to do one for the attacks in Iran on Sat?
We're playing Scotland right? Did anyone from Scotland or England die in those attacks?

It was a World Cup Qualifier, the game wasn't "in honour of Australians that died in the attacks".

That said, they could have just stood respectfully; looks like one of them did (I can't see the video).
