Have we ever done the double over Arsenal?

This will be the seventh season we have played them in the league. Ever.

Mind you, they had Raphael Meade in the squad in 82 so, on second thoughts, it's possible....

Arsenal rarely change the way they play against any team at least not wholesale, let alone Brighton.
For years they have had supreme confidence that there way is the way to win.
Or you could look at it as they are so far up their backsides that to change their style against Brighton is admitting that we are better than them.
Also watch if they go 1 up, they seem to think that will be enough and concede goals, they do it so often.
At the top of our game we can beat Arsenal, far more confident than I was before Wolves away.

I know what you mean when you say that about Burn, but I think he plays well in these games against quick players.. for example He played well at the Emirates, played Zaha really well. He's much quicker than he looks I think and long-legs give him a chance to nick the ball when all seems lost.. He's got a good temperament for these kind of battles - doesn't get rattled and can frustrate his opposite number. I think GP will stick with the team that started at Wolves.. just watched the highlights back from the Emirates game and the two lads up front (Connolly and Maupay looked a real threat, stretching their centre-backs.. don't think we will see that again, but makes you realise how far Connolly has dropped down the pecking order!

I think Connolly is a big miss too.

We should play the same formation as we did at the Emirates because it worked a treat and we got the result we deserved. That meant playing Maupay and Connelly up top together as their movement, pace and pressing caused Arsenal problems. We need Bernardo at left back / wing back too, Burn is proving a a bit of a hinderance in our attacking play down the left flank.

The dilemma is that March has always and in these last games, helped hugely in nullifying much lauded opposition wide players. It’s his huge strength, he does it for 90 minutes. Everyone’s in agreement his attacking play is poor.

Auba, Pepe, Ozil and Lacazette offer so many threats, especially out wide.

Some tactical/personnel caution is required.

Leftback next season and will become a top one at that.:clap2:

Ali Mac in for Mooy would be my choice. He has been not been effective in the final 3rd for a few weeks now.

I’ve said it many times. Lacks the bollocks and belief to be an attacking player for me. If he can’t be moved into a more defensive/wing back roll then it’s time to get rid. [emoji53][emoji53]

He can be LB or RB, he’s played excellently at both. CH and GP kept playing him as a winger, despite a dearth of assists and goals. With CH, it was seemingly part of a 10 man defensive masterplan.

Might see Lamptey debut, no stranger to playing well against arsenal

Which is why I said “tempted” to drop him, March defends very well and has the pace to stay with quick tricky players. I would probably start with him for this reason but it does blunt our attacking prowess.

March was one of our best players at the end of the shitfest of the run in last season, but for his defensive qualities rather than attacking.

GP seems to have learnt the lesson of not altering defensive personnel, I would imagine that MM will keep his place.

He played well last Saturday, he doesn’t get much credit on here.
