Me, my dad and aunt want to stop off in Lewes on Saturday to have some food and a cheeky couple. Many people on here drinking in Lewes before the game, and if so, which pubs? Want to soak up as much pre-match atmosphere as possible.

The Lansdowne was absolutely rammed on SSC Final day - I'd imagine it would be difficult to get into unless you were early on a 'normal' match day.

I imagine 12ish wouldn't be classed as early then for a game of this size. Does it serve up alright grub?

It was packed with Albion last Saturday before the Spurs friendly. If you want somewhere with a bit more room I'd try either the Royal Oak (further up the hill/top of Station Street) or the Kings Head which is passed the station in the other direction (cross the road, turn right and a short walk along Southover High Street).

Most pubs in Lewes are run by Greene King these days and don't sell Harvey's.

The lansdowne will probably be the liveliest as it's near the station but the train looked absolutely rammed on sayurday so it's a few pints down the Volunteer and then on a 28 or 29 bus to Falmer

For food I would recommend The Lewes Arms, very good quality.... Best matchday atmosphere will probably be The Landsdown, But very busy.... Elephant and Castle although slightly further away is also likely to be busy but a bigger pub to handle a crowd... The bonus of these 3 pubs is that they all sell Harvey's if that's you're tipple!

Heading for the Brewers Arms on the high street, decent pub with good food and beer and some outside space.

Ah brilliant, will probably scout round a few different pubs then around the high street before heading down the station. I'm more of a cider man myself, but my dad is itching to try some Thomas Paine ale!

Hmmm I was heading for The Brewers but the Kings Head is nice and close to the station. Might do both :drink::drink:
