How far towards securing our safety would beating Notts Forest go?

If we win then:
Rotherham won't catch us, 17 points behind now, the best they can hope for is 17 points behind with 16 games left. Too big an ask IMO.

Notts Forest, will be 15 points behind, again IMO, too much to make up.

Cardiff/Gillingham. If Gills lose, they will be 10 points behind. Not impossible, but very difficult. Cardiff, could be 8 points.

This could be a big weekend for us.

Probably all go tits-up now.

Let's not forget that Plymouth are doing their level best to get involved in the relegation battle and that we're also above Cardiff, Coventry and Wolves. Not even mentioning that with a couple of wins we could drag Crewe, Stoke, Leeds, watford and Leicester into it.

Positivity, positivity.

ITs a worry that if we lose on saturday we're only potentially 4 points off the relegation zone, assuming the worst case scenario of teams below winning.

As you say big big game this saturday, not must win for survival but must win to put us in a very strong position going into the final third of the season.

hehe yeah the Pre-Crewe game on here was about how many we'd score :shootself

Forest will be tough and unlike Sheff Utd they will actually shoot on target at somepoint...unless Mayo decides to give them a hand! They will be up for it and I just hope we dont defend too much and try to score through free play rather than on the counter, as in we should outplay them, not them outplay us.

Usually two of the bottom 3 for most of the season go down and also1 team who has a bad 2nd half gets dragged into the reckoning. I believe that team will be Plymouth I would like it to be QPR but I think that they have enough strength up front to avoid this.

Must not lose Saturday!!!

If we do lose on Saturday, we should look at the overall performances over the last month, and accept that it's just a bad day at the office.

I don't think we will lose, but then again, no-one but the the optimistic person would have expected us to be Sheff Utd.

We need to get the same level of support for the team at home as we do away. Sometimes it happens, but not enough.

A draw on Saturday will be a good result. Forrest are starting to play some decent football, and will be up for this game. We need to keep concentrating on the 50 points target. A point a game will do that for us now.

Thats the key, a draw is not a bad result for us, as long as we don't lose on saturday thats fine by me

Important thing is not to lose ground .. ie dont mind drawing if others draw and another game goes by!

Forest have a new manager and haven't won a game away all season so they will be well fired up for this one.

Lets do our bit and get behind them. It's no coincidence that the team did so well at Tottenham, Sheffield & Wolves with the vocal support.

Look, how long have you lot been following Brighton? Position-wise our recent movement has been upwards towards midtable and we've just won away at play-off contenders Sheff Utd. That was on the back of a very creditable performance against an in-form Premiership team and that result came after a very good Christmas and New Year period.

Now we're playing a team who are fast getting cut adrfit in the relegation places and haven't won away all season. Of COURSE we'll lose.
