If you're suggesting that we should BBQ whitebait, you're gonna need a very fine grill

I'd recommend deep frying
My Brother reported this in the week but said they were Mackeral chasing the whitebait in.
Happens every year in Plymouth, thousands of them.
I love Sardines and Mackeral but refuse to pay over the top prices for them in a restaurant as they are so plentiful, it's a bit of a con, it's not like they are Turbot or Monkfish.
There was also a mention of this on my favourite fishing programme, you may not have listened to it because it was only available on DAB.
Quite right, sounds like heavy rain drops on the water as they splash around, I fish a deep diving plug behind them and on some lucky occasions have been rewarded with a decent sized Bass hunting the Mackerel chasing the whitebait. They are Whitebait and it happens every summer when Mackerel, Gars, Scad, Bass etc chase them inshore.
sure is good, a colleague in Eastbourne whilst walking his dog , said he had not seen so many mackerel in the sea chasing the whitebait, he was talking to someone fishing who said he had caught so many mackerel he was giving them away.
we get the same thing here , sardines chased by tailor , mulloway , dolphins , bull sharks , hammerheads etc. etc ......so you lot have got no excuse ....no one ever got put in an ambulance by a mackerel ..!!
get down the beach...!!
Mackerel for dinner tonight. Neighbour went down to Seaford beach with the intention of a long shore fishing session but within minutes had caught more mackerel than he could cope with. Apparently on one cast he caught five with four hooks as one was biting another's tail.
They're in our fridge as I type this, awaiting my less than expert gutting and filleting.
