"Head coach Graham Potter is happy with his attacking options as things stand. You can never say never though.
It could change if, for example, Neal Maupay or Aaron Connolly get injured at Everton on Saturday."

Therefore by implication if Maupay or Connolly get injured after the window closes....... we will be short of a striker. So we need one then.

From what I've seen of Sanders I'm very interested to see how he gets on. Hope all three get good challenges in their loan seasons.

to EFL clubs .

Reports Andy Naylor today:

https://theathletic.com/news/brighton-transfer-gyokeres-sanders-cochrane/
Also says "no urgency" about adding to the squad before Monday although "Never say never".

Wouldn't it be better if Potter came out and publicly stated how desperate we were to fill a particular position? No agent or selling club would be underhand enough to use that knowledge against us in transfer negotiations

Regardless of what he says publicly there is absolutely no way in hell that GP is happy with his attacking options, they are nowhere near adequate for anything other than another relegation battle. He may be happy to go with got he’s got but he would 100% want to see a new proven striker if possible.

Yep. Although you'd wonder how much game time he's going to get.

Far be it from me to add fuel to the Davy's off fire ...... but Davy's off

Even then there are a few to get round, but there is plenty of football to be played in this compressed season and we know that GP will target matches and not be afraid to make 5 or 6 changes when there is another game 3 days later

Swansea are heading interest from Championship clubs in Gyokeres. They have been tracking him for some time and are understood to be very keen to land him.

Sanders, who spent last season on loan to AFC Wimbledon in League One, is attracting Championship interest as well after impressing at Preston in the second round of the Carabao Cup.

League One Portsmouth have been keeping tabs on Cochrane, but Brighton would also ideally like to loan the 20-year-old to a Championship club. They anticipate interest in him increasing towards the end of the window, due to a general shortage of left-backs in the market.

There are several more than those three in the loan window you would imagine.

Sanchez, Gwargis, Yapi and Cashman won’t gain much with another season of U23, and potentially Roberts and Jenks too (though these two are younger).

Gyokeres was extremely poor last night, in every aspect of the game. He looks a long way off being a Championship forward, let alone a Premier League one. This loan would be his last chance to make an impression.

Max Sanders looks a good player though, from what we've seen. Molumby is clearly ready to be in our Premier League squad so it's no surprise he's not going out on loan.

Would be interested to know what the state of play is with Andone. Still recovering from injury? Or still on the naughty chair? Must play a useful part at some point shirley, in between the spells of red mist

I think he's out injured until at least Christmas, aside from anything else.

I think this decision makes it more likely we'll take on a loan player or two before the window shuts.

Gyokeres offers absolutely nothing to our Premier League A team or B team. If Andone is now the answer we are in for some very frustrating results whilst we wait to see if he is still a head case

Of course not, Agents are always considered the pinnacle of respect and professionalism by any trading organisations .

Unduly harsh on Gyokeres. He took his goal well last week.

I agree he's not ready yet, but he's not a waste of space. We've had much worse

Boy some harsh comments for Gyorkeres on here. Having watched him a lot in the U23's hes a good player.

How many of you would have written off, White, Dunk, Molumby, Connolly, Alzate at these stages of their careers at least we have a manager that knows how to develop and bring players on.

International player as well.
