That's incredible news. First player we've had called up by Spain (I'm guessing ever) and it's a youth team graduate goalie who was playing in League One last season!

Delighted for him.

I have no doubt if he was English, our esteemed manager Southgate would not call him up.

.....and I’m led to believe he doesn’t have a UK passport so can’t play for England even if he wanted to.

Even if he hasn't, he's legible for one. Irrelevant now anyway.

Spain doesn't recognise Dual Citizenship (the UK does) so to obtain a UK passport he would have to relinquish his Spanish one.
