Sammy Ameobi will sign a contract with Newcastle in the next couple of days and will then make his decision known on where he will go for a season long loan.
Wolves are the front runners but Slade is quietly confident he will get the pacy wideman.
Brighton have expressed an interest but it looks a straight battle between calling Cardiff City Stadium or Molineux his temporary home.

I think his wages would be more than he is worth £16K a week or so. A team with parachute payments can afford this. I don't think he is good enough.

Was reported Cardiff and wolves prepared to pay 70% of his wages.

Yep, I meant to say that £16K was the old contract.

A 27 yo PL youngster is more affordable at £9K a week. If the youngster is any good he has still got ambitions to make it with the parent club. By 24 the parent club may or may not want to sell him for the cost of several years wages languishing in the stiffs. Say £1 million with a bit of luck.

Newcastle wages are OTT for their lack of quality. I would like us to sign their defender Williamson but he is £40K a week so out of the question.

To be honest, no great loss, he needs to fill out a bit, very lankey for a 23 year old, not too much of a loss.
