Left the ground and had coins thrown in my direction, then caught train into London Bridge and had to endure Millwall supporter's views on the forthcoming game with Bradford. These were peppered with racism and anecdotes about their previous encounters with Asian Brits. Oh, and lets not forget the homophobia.

I would not shed a tear if Millwall F.C. folded tomorrow.

It seems Pink Lions is the talk of gay pubs across the country. A friend of mine was clubbing in Manchester where they were all talking about our initiative to get gays down to The New Den. Will it work, people were asking. The idea is sound. In a city with Londons gay population, whatever football club gets them on their side, will become the best supported club in the country, but Millwall? Can the baddest club in the land successfully accomodate an influx of gay supporters? The proof was in the pudding against Northampton and Brentford this week.

I know it's early days and our numbers are small, but the queers who came on our recommendation have all said they intend to spread the word and get more of the community to take up memberships. To be honest, with all the shaved heads about, gay blokes hardly stick out at Millwall games and if anyone's going to fill those empty seats it might as well be us!

Could there already be a massive amount of closet gays at 'Wall already? We have this reputation among other teams fans of being bad boys and when I see our lads going over the top to appear macho and hard, I can't help wondering if they might be in denial of something. Maybe our initiative will be of great benefit to these fans in the future. Many of them stand a great chance of meeting their special someone at football and there could be some very happy times ahead for some of those frustrated young men.

Mind you quite a few of their fans wear pink shirts

I've always thought the lion's paw looked a bit limp.

I'm sure you would have stepped in, but it would have been scary in case he turned on you

If I was gay, I would probably support one of the west London clubs as they seem the most friendly and welcoming in the capital, it would have to be either Brentford or Queens Park Rangers (no pun intended).
