If your workplace had made a decision that, because it is public facing workplace and has a sort of community position, if not exactly a community role, and it wanted to signal support for a cause relating to inclusivity then....... well I will leave it for you to ponder

Luckily, my workplace would never make such decisions on my behalf.

They believe in personal choice.

They make a number of pins and badges available at times like Pride or Remembrance Day and leave it up to the individual.

Absolutely nothing to do with my stance on LGBTQ+

The way I treat people at work is how I wish to be judged. Not what trinkets I have dangling from my uniform.


My job is far easier when I don’t display any kind of livery except that which identities my role.

I must have responded to the wrong thing because my social media is currently a tsunami of snowflakes triggered by rainbow armbands, flags and laces.

So powerful are the rainbows that there is plenty of solidarity with Islam all of a sudden.

Not much love for freedom of speech or freedom of expression though.

Nobody should ever have to explain or justify their decision not to wear a particular item.

Completely up to the individual and publicly chastising someone for their decision is as bad as the prejudice they claim to oppose.
