You'll never take our Owner!!
Well if that's the case I can see us getting far fewer players than we actually need in the coming years. Maybe we'll just be left with a small number of very very large ones.and George heads up replica kit procurement.
But it has always happened. What is impressive about our current management is that they know it will happen and plan for it. Should be obvious really but most clubs don't plan for it and get hurt when it inevitably happens.FFS I really do hate Chelsea. It's a systematic disassembling of a competitor and it feels like it shouldn't be allowed.
I completely take your point - but the current / recent situation with Chelsea - with the sheer volume of players bought, and staff head-hunted - really is quite unusual. Possibly even completely unprecedented in English football.I agree. It's why I've written to Paul Barber today to ask that we send back all recently purchased players and staff back to their previous clubs, for free, with a letter of apology.
No matter how much contingency you build in to your succession planning, eventually, there is bound to be a detrimental effect on the efficiency of our scouting and recruitment strategies..... added to which, gradually, all our little unique secrets and processes are being spread out there amongst the more powerful money teams.... our little edge is likely to be diluted somewhat. But I reject the conclusion that this haemorrhaging of personnel comes damage free or that the sheer rate of loss of key staff is normal.
Getting in a massive shipment of Right Handed Red Goalkeeper gloves I heard.I read that as 'Nick Cave' which I thought was a left-field appointment but given he's local did make some sense.
Data!No matter how much contingency you build in to your succession planning, eventually, there is bound to be a detrimental effect on the efficiency of our scouting and recruitment strategies..... added to which, gradually, all our little unique secrets and processes are being spread out there amongst the more powerful money teams.... our little edge is likely to be diluted somewhat.
I agree. It's odd.I completely take your point - but the current / recent situation with Chelsea - with the sheer volume of players bought, and staff head-hunted - really is quite unusual. Possibly even completely unprecedented in English football.
Oh, yes, but data can be bought ultimately.... for the right priceData!
Benham was sacked by Bloom 20 years ago……I daresay things have moved on a bit since thenI daresay Benham has a fair amount of the original algorithms though.......
i think the code that runs the data is pretty much priceless to Bloom. Lets see how good Sam is without the resources available to him.Oh, yes, but data can be bought ultimately.... for the right price
Fixed for you.The wheels of churn continue to turn. Not worried and, as always, trust Barber and Bloom 100% in club affairs.
We will have the permanent successor already lined up - now the lawyers from both sides can earn their small fortune in fees thrashing out the compensation amount.
Thanks Sam, good job with us - now you can **** off and watch your successor REPLACE you AT CHELSEA, IN 18 MONTHS' TIME
Their kids came to us. WBG and Lamptey are doing very well.No pathway to the first team for ambitious kids.....and never will be with their impatient owner and fans......
My thought too.Torn on this one. A real shame it's Chelsea but he's done exceptionally well at the Albion over 8 years and turned down a big move up to Rangers (where he would have been Director of Football) in the summer. I'm sure the club have ramped up the succession planning since then.
