We don't need a loan striker if a condition of the loan is that we must select him.
I'd be disappointed if we loaned in a striker, as we really should be giving Hambo and Harper chances, not slavishly picking an unfinished Southampton youngster.
A loan of a winger, a central defender, or a central attacking midfielder would be fine.

Both Upson & Gallagher could have 'Done a Job' here but would only have been a temporary plaster over the problems, seriously hope that Hughton & Co know this and the reason why our transfers coming in has gone down is because they're being more picky about the players that do come in. The activity that has been done is suggesting that the club are setting the bar a lot higher.
A season long 'temporary plaster' doesn't seem such a bad thing to me - many things can happen during that time. DS players maturing into first teamers for starters. Don't know much (actually don't know anything) about Gallagher, but would have been more than happy to see Upson in the stripes for another year.
