Shocked to hear of this last night. I knew Sam through Worthing Town and whether he was coaching kids of any age or playing in the coaches and Dads games he always had a great energy and attitude. He always threw himself into everything - he was the only person I have ever had to dial 999 for after injuring himself in a kickabout.

Sam was always the first to volunteer to cover if a manager or coach needed help or was unable to make a match.

He really was one of the nice guys in life and will be sorely missed.
