I keep wondering whether Lamptey's final pass to Gross was really meant for Lallana and the fact that it was slightly overhit wrongfooted all the United players? Or was it a perfectly weighted ball born of the understanding built at the training ground? I hope it was the latter.

Unbelievable. That was Man U. All that money and we passed it around them like it was a training ground exercise and they were a set of traffic cones.

I'm amazed MOTD didn't highlight it. All they had to do was show that and say 'this is why Brighton are so good and why Man U were so bad'.
Brilliant couple of minutes.
Murphy did mention it.

As i mentioned on another thread, Welbz popping up at right back is something I’m sure he never thought he’d be doing

5 games. Every goalkick . Two different GKS - yet - EVERY SINGLE ONE - has been a short pass to Lewis Dunk or a smart loop over the pressing attackers to Veltman or March etc. .

I wondered the same. Then gave Lamptey the benefit of the doubt. I think Pascal would have called. There was a slight hesitation that suggested it might be to Lallana - but in any event he would have seen Pascal arriving - so stopped. I am going with Pascal called. Lamptey put it into the space.

Thought this deserved its own thread. Remarkable.

Of course we now see this week in week out and it shouldn't be a surprise but its now remarkable how i've watched Arsenal, Chelsea, England etc just in the last week and as i'm now expecting this type of build up play from other elite clubs when i watch them but it never seems to happen. Onana just couldn't get it to work at Old Trafford for United.

"soul destroying" was my favourite reaction here.

Fernandes at 1:20 as well, tho :lolol:

That's the funniest bit that I clocked the first time I watched it.

?? Albion were first on MOTD. Lineker said our performance was "spectacular" . Danny Murphy spent more than three minutes praising how we were set up . He said we "dictate possession" and do it "really well".. They've got "pace and threats all over the pitch" he added. He started his analysis of the 2nd goal by literally saying "It was a really composed performance, this was the 2nd goal after 30 passes.." and then they showed it. "7 attackers in the final third...this is the confidence of this Brighton side ....Gross, what an underrated player he is".

Yeah I warched it. But that has nothing to do with me being surprised they didn't show the full move for that goal.

To be fair you asked aloud why they didn't highlight it. Well they did. As for The full move ? . Its nearly 2 minutes long ? Its a highlights show. They've quite a bit to fit in - for non Brighton fans that is. ha ha.

Even better are the CBs taking the goal kick into the keeper. Or in the Newcastle game Billy Gilmour taking the goal kick.

Because, as I said, if you're going to highlight everything that is right about us and wrong about them that would have been a very simple way to do it. IE they had one player pressing, BF, who gave up, and we kept the ball for 30 passes. I'm not criticising MOTD.

It was a shame MOTD didn't show it in full. As I said on Saturday, it was the best team goal I have ever seen in all the years I have watched Albion. I'm glad the full video is shown. Everyone was involved.
