just read this, which does not look good.I would have thought they would sell a fair amount to help the club......

Sunday's 'All Stars'match organised by Lawrie McMenemy and Mike Osman has been called off…

The benefit game had been arranged for this coming weekend in aid of the 'Save Our Saints' campaign, but a lack of ticket sales has now caused the organisers to reconsider.

FA Cup winning manager Lawrie McMenemy had been hitting his contacts book hard in an attempt to line-up a host of Saints legends for the game, including Matt Le Tissier and a number of the 1976 squad, but with just 1500 tickets sold by Wednesday, the decision was taken to abandon the fixture.

Sounds like those Saints fans really care about their club.

That is shocking isn't it. There must be more to this than we know, because if they can't raise more than 1500 "fans" to this fundraiser, then they don't deserve saving.

Sorry to quote myself, but have just read the reader's responses to the story in the Echo.
"£20 is too much" "in the recession" "only a kick about"

Still shell shocked and sulking because of relegation from a league they were going to walk when they fell into it I'd think. In fairness our demise was over a much longer period and the decline more gradual. We were also being shafted which really motivated fans imo. They are in their position through incompetence not skullduggery. I'm sure once it's sunk in they'll rally. I hate them for their billy big bollocks attitude but I hope they can halt the rapid decline.
