They are deservedly top albeit briefly.

I also recall the score v Palace was the wrong way round. They bossed the game. Palace done a smash and grab on them.

Mysterious - a collection of players who have, in the very recent past, produced some of the dullest football ever played in the Premier League, or anywhere else. And Saints fans I know agree with me.

I assume they're all passing PED tests but I can't think of any other reason why they have suddenly become world-beaters. Coaching? But Hasenhuttl has been there quite a long time and had at least two very bad spells. Vestergaard, Romeu, Stephens, Adams, Ward-Prowse, McCarthy - I've seen them all play absolute sh*t* with my own eyes. Has Theo Walcott really made THAT much difference?

I suppose it just shows that anything is possible in a very mediocre PL at the moment and that yes, we could be in the top half ourselves in a few weeks.

I’ve heard that Danny Ings fella is quite good.
Perhaps having a striker who plays and scores consistently - even though he’s injured at the mo -might just have something to do with it.

With the exception of Ings who is genuine quality, the rest of them are average.

Hasenhuttl though is an excellent coach and is the reason they’re up there.

I thought he was a real coup for them at the time and he’s proving it now.

Shocking level of after-timing on this thread on the strength of a single result by this most random of teams in this most random of seasons.

Where's Enrest when you need him to bitch-slap all these Clevor Trevers down? ???

No Stains fan here, but I’ve rated always Redmond highly.

I know it’ll go tits up for Stains at some stage in this hard league, but just now they seem a unit that has it all. Great goalie, Vestergaard imperious, an energetic DM mopping up all danger, leaving a bunch of creators with goals in them and the pace to tear opposition defences apart.
Sounds like this year's Leicester City!
