Not sure that’s true. But lets call an end to the ‘suffering’ to use your phrase. We’ve been doing so longer than almost every team ever played in the top flight. We’re in our 4th seasons of trying, you’d think by now we’d have more than 0pts from 3 x City, Lpool, Chelsea, Spurs, Utd and Everton(4). Oh, and don’t forget we get a lot of ‘suffering’ done outside of this bracket too! :)

Most teams of our calibre don't last 4 seasons in the first place - either yoyo clubs or disappear back to the wilderness. I know we've grown loads in size as a club, but we were still newbies in the Prem 4 years ago...

Just dreadful.

Q How do you progess from being EPL cannon fodderand just clinging on in there for another season or two?

A Pay market prices. Or fold

Horrific team team selection v, Everton - no experience - and an even worse performance, expected though [see prediction]

We'll be ok. Confident we WILL stay up. And even if we did go down at least we are playing some attractive football now. Rather go down playing good footy than survive playing like we did under CH just over a year ago.

But we WILL stay up. 16th was my pre-season prediction and I'm sticking with it.

Who is going down? Newcastle, Burnley, WBA, Fulham ?

So far we have played three teams who will almost certainly finish in the top six, two of which have spent large amounts of money. One we should have drawn with at least. The other team we played we thrashed in their house. Let's see where we are after playing a few more of the lesser sides (and then panic).

True. But then Leeds just drew with Man City to screw your argument. Look, our record against the really big boys ain’t that good. Stop excusing it. It’s ok to want more. But when so many on here refuse to accept such facts, and excuse excuse excuse (and likewise, against similar size teams too!) it’s just delusional if not irritating. How are we to move forward as a club when the mindset of so many is a losers? Anyway, today has yet again proved that no matter how many examples of XYZ have done better than us that you give, a rose tinted loser jumps in to say “but Chelsea are richer than us, Liverpool are world champions, United are the biggest club in England, Man City have played the best football of the PL era, Everton have made the best start since 1895....blah blah blah blah. Tell that to Bmuff, Watford, Palace, Leeds and frankly, dozens of other newly promoted or smaller PL clubs. And stop excusing. Because you know what? If there’s a valid excuse for every club we play, then by rights, that means we get relegated. Even then, the losers and excusers will be out in force denying it’s anyone’s fault but ours!

Fulham, West Brom, and Burnley were my pre-season picks and I put Palace 17th with us at 16th. I'd be happy with that.

Depends also on final transfer spending/loanees.

It’d be typical of CP to bring in a couple of proven PL players from the likes of Chelsea, on huge wages, to secure mid table.

Great. Let’s know our place and aim high. We really are a bunch of Edwardian maids, happy to hang around in the parlour and dreaming of being Cook one day. FFS, what’s wrong with going upstairs? :censored:

And how do you propose we afford to compete with Everton’s recruitment and Ancelotti?

I despair at the level of entitlement some of our fans have. That includes you.

Equally, I despair of the losers mentality you have. Always an excuse. We’d better **** off back down to the Championship then. No point ever expecting a point or win against 2 thirds of clubs. We’re little old Brighton. If we can finish 17th and play well, but importantly always lose, against the top 6 or 7 it’s to be expected. What’s that? Other teams manage to get results against? Pah! No they don’t, or if they do, there’s a reason. So Long as we beat Fulham 1 nil, maybe win a thriller 3-2 against West Brom and draw both 0-0 against Palace then hurray, it’s such a brilliant league to be in isn’t it? Year after year. Tearing up the PL eh?!!

Still, always the cup...oh...

This is a massive exaggeration. We won't go down. But it's a shame that we won't progress much from last season it seems.
Our defensive play has been the worst i've seen since Hyppia this season.
