I dont care whether it makes him a martyr or not. I just want him dead.

2 wrongs don't make a right and if taking another life is wrong then it's wrong even if done by the state. End of conversation.

Can't say I'd wish anyone dead. Let the fucker rot in jail with nothing to look forward to except hard, degrading labour.

The other side of keeping this piece or crap alive is that there could be a Hi Jacking where his release would be the ransom or some such,

not really a very good argument for the death penalty though is it?

We would keep you alive but we're worried that you'd be kidnapped and released therefore we've no choice but to kill you.

I assume you wont agree but I think that is a perfect argument. I never agree with this "dying is too easy" stuff. If you want to make it hard on him, torture him before you kill him.

I hope you're seriously joking, in 1982 he ordered the killing of 182 Schihads (Spl?) after a attack on his life.

Unfortunatley Kev,places like Iraq need a ruthless leader to curb the violence of the different factions out there. While he was in power he had control over the affairs. Now it's lawless and it won't change no matter how long our forces are out there. The war was wrong on our behalf and we should of never invaded. It's very difficult to control countries like that but Saddam did with an iron fist.

He can be moved to a neutral country and held in their prison just like Milosevic was. Doesn't have to be in Europe, it could be anywhere.

The argument's just so flimsy too. It is illogical to give someone a jail sentence and then state that you are so unsure of your ability to house him that you will have to kill him. If you can house him during a trial and a civil war in Baghdad, which was his powerbase and where his strongest support lies then surely you can house him after the trial.

As for torture. :nono: Then we're no better than him and there's no point in pretending to live in a civil society. Dog eat dog, summary justice by the mob and woe betide the innocent.

Death is the easy way out, bring back TORTURE I say, proper decent stuff too.....the one where he gradually dies over MONTHS feeling the pain every single second of every single day.

Why? f***ing kill the c*nt. He doesn't deserve to be kept alive for the rest of Iraq/world to pay for him. Suppose you'd want Hitler kept alive if you could have?

Surely you can see the sick irony in sentencing to death a man guilty of crimes against humanity?

f*** me, I'm in danger of being called a bleeding heart liberal here when nothing could be further from the truth.

Quite simply, I believe that taking another's life is wrong in all circumstances by whoever in whoever's name.
