Just watched the interview on Player. Seems a grounded young man, although he needs to learn to let the interviewer finish their question instead of talking over them before they’ve even got their words out.

Will put it down to youthful exuberance for now.

Great move for him.

A solid Championship campaign will make the measure of him. Now if he bangs in 15+ goals in the Championship we’ll have a very interesting player.

If he bangs in 15 plus goals for Hull this season, he will be starting the following season as our new Premier League sriker.

Lets hope he has more success that the last striker Hull City signed from a Sussex club!

I would like to see Longman playing centrally, rather than deployed as a winger. He is big, quick and has a powerful shot, if he can learn to use those attributes as a centre forward, he could develop into something special. I hope he gets this chance at Hull.

That applies to virtually all loanees.

Of course it does, but the poster l was replying to, described it as an excellent move for an excleent player.

Yes he has done very well thus far, but let's see if he is still an "excellent player" in a division tier higher than he is used to.

All part of his development though.

15 goals? Can I have some of what you've been drinking?
He scored 8 last season, which is a decent return for an attacking player, not a number 9 or out and out striker; he is mainly a winger, with a fair eye for goal. The idea that he will double hos goal tally at a higher level, playing for a newly promoted team, is wishful thinking, with knobs on.
If he actually gets to double figures, that would be a fantastic season for the lad!

Yes, OK. Agreed it is a step for the lad.

Hull are embargoed by the EFL under the following regulation: Conditions under monitored loan agreement. It says:

"Under the EFL's operational rules surrounding embargoes, clubs do have some means of strengthening their squads "to protect the integrity" of the competition.
Clubs are permitted to 'staff up' so they have 23 players of professional standing, which is termed as players to have made at least one appearance for any club in any first-team competition.
If they have less than 23 players they are allowed, within a transfer window, to sign free agents on a maximum of one-year deals or bring in players on loan for up to half a season.
However, clubs cannot pay loan fees for players and cannot pay additional wages on top of the salary the player receives at their parent club.

Does the half seaon only loan clause not apply to young players? Anyway, I suppose their inability to buy in reinforcements for their return to the Championship improves Longman's chances of playing. Looking forward to see how he does.
