I suppose the other question is, who is their right mind would be watching it?

Even before all this, if you were sitting around fancying some news, would you be thinking, "I know i'll scroll down past 20 news channels before i get to Russia Today". I suppose there might be a small number of hardline commies and a few Russian immigrants. Even then their viewership must be miniscule (maybe even down in GB news territory)

Never understand this sort of attitude. Do you only read/listen to those with the same opinion as yourself? All that does is reinforce any prejudices you may have.

I’m no believer in censorship even if a lot of what is being said is a lie or propaganda. Often listening to channels such as RT puts you in a better position to refute those who repeat nonsense they’ve heard from extreme or propagandist sources.

Absolutely heartbreaking. War is always a messy business, and there will always be collateral damage in the form of civilian casualties - the UK is not whiter than white in this regard.

But it’s the sheer needlessness of this which galls me. This is a peaceful, democratic and stable nation - this is just mindless, lethal violence.

Heartbreaking ... and a war crime.

I mean, when you think about it, Vladimir Putin has achieved some incredible things many of us would have thought impossible

- He's turned a Ukranian president most in the west thought was a bit of a lightweight into arguably the most inspirational global leader this century so far
- He's bought the UK and the EU back closer together after years of bickering
- He's managed to unite both sides of the aisle in the US Senate behind the current President
- He's managed to almost entirely destroy the fearsome reputation of the Russian military
- He's managed to force the German, Swedish and Swiss governments into abandoning decades (and in one case centuries) of neutrality to turn against him
- He's utterly wrecked his own country's economy
- He's managed to fall out with China
- He's forced the Taliban into issuing a statement saying basically "um, guys...chill?"
- He's made FIFA, the FIA and UEFA actually do something worthwhile

Really, it's remarkable. If you'd said this a week ago I'd have never, ever believed this was possible.

Time for Vlad to take a walk in the woods with his service pistol.

Both sides are talking and have declared they will continue to do so. Russia has stated they should be able to find a agreement that suits them all.
The salt is being passed around, take a pinch.

Hard to take Russia too seriously while they are still bombing Ukraine. However, they are talking. That is something.

On the face of it an excellent development but a very dangerous one.

Turkey are a member of NATO. What happens if Turkey tries to enforce the blockade on a Russian warship which then fires on Turkish forces?

Then Nato fires back?

The 'fine print' seems to indicate that Turkey will not restrict any Russian vessels registered to a base in the Black Sea. A simple adminstrative re-registering exercise by the Russians could render this sanction all but useless?

As I said a potentially dangerous scenario.

It's up to Russia how far they want to push their aggression? How far Russian people want Russia to push their aggression? And how much money the uglifarts are prepared to lose?
