Now he’s saying if Nato build military bases in Finland or Sweden he’ll retaliate…

Does NATO even need to? Surely they both have their own bases already established (especially the Finns who seem to have been preparing for another war with Russia since 1941).

Very unlikely they will build anything in these two countries. And Putin knows that. In his swollen head he’ll think that’s a victory for Russia. “I warned them not to and they knew not to mess”.

I say build a whopper of a military base there. Go full North Korea. Let him send his bedraggled, rapist soldiers in. They’ll get their arses handed to them.

A1X, here's the BBC analysis of the Russian TV program yesterday on which you posted that long, but very interesting thread:

'Retired colonel gives rare realistic analysis on Russian TV'

https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/live/world-europe-61461805 10:26

Fwiw, I think it was all planned, premeditated and choreographed.
During his speech, there was footage of the modern Ukrainian weapons he was talking about. That wasn't off-the-cuff. His speech was not cut off either, but allowed to continue until he had finished.
Notice how Skabeyeva, the female anchor, asked a few pointless questions to give a semblance of a debate, but didn't pursue her questioning when Mikhail Khodarenok dismissed her points. She let him carry on.

The narrative from the Kremlin, aimed at the Russian TV audience, is changing. Why?

First Putin says there will be retaliation of the U.K. sends arms to Ukraine
We did
Nothing happened

Then he said if we keep sending arms there will be retaliation
We did
Nothing happened

Then he said if anyone else tries to join NATO there will be retaliation
They have
Nothing happened

Now he’s saying if Nato build military bases in Finland or Sweden he’ll retaliate…

Jog on, you moon faced slice of shit.

He’s got nothing except a mob of terrorist footsoldiers who rape and kill at will. They’ll all be dead soon, his underlings will cut his throat and Russia will be ringfenced and sanctioned out of all meaningful existence. A metaphorical oubliette.

You’ve had your pants pulled down Putin. Move your toys around, bring it. Bring your lunch too, we’ll have that as well. ****.

Spot on. The myth of Russian military power has been shown for what it is - a myth! Putin has spent so many years building the machismo image that he thinks it's all true.

At a guess I’d say to justify any nuclear or chemical strike that Putin has been itching to unleash on Ukraine since day one? I still don’t think Putin has the stones to go nuclear. Just one tactical nuke into Ukraine will see a thunderstorm of nuclear warheads raining down on Russia from all corners of the globe.

He’s not made good on any of his threats. He just sends moronic troops in to rape and kill. And the invasion, the one thing he did actually carry out, he lied about up til the last hour.

We should have bombed Moscow weeks ago. Taught that melon headed **** a lesson he’ll never forget.

As the aim is to onboard Finland and Sweden asap, I'd like to see some kind of emergency resolution to bypass the Turkish veto. Few in Nato, or the EU for that matter, would be comfortable seeing the exiled Kurds extradited to Turkey and an uncertain fate.

Turkish president sounds as bat shit mental as Putin

Or is there something you are hiding from us Swansman?

Meanwhile Turkey's president suggests he could block Finland and Sweden's applications to join Nato, accusing them of harbouring terrorists

Take a look at this report from yesterday. I hesitate to say this, but is he doing the groundwork for a biological weapons attack?

I’ve lost patience with Russia now. He’s all mouth and no trousers. He thought a thunderous invasion would intimidate the world. It did not. He’s failing. And he’s making more and more threats to seem like he’s got the balls to win this war.
I say raze Moscow to the ground and mass NATO troops and weapons along every inch of Russia’s borders with NATO countries.

Bring the fight to him. He’d shit his pants and his people would hate him.

interesting comment from elsewhere, that questions the size of the Russian forces. along the lines of do they have as many soldiers in the battle groups as expected or are they undermanned? obviously a tank needs x many crew, a truck needs a driver, but an APC could have half or even quarter the infantry. makes it more difficult to protect units or hold ground. very speculative, given the signs of underfunding elsewhere it wouldnt be beyond possiblity.

If Moscow was attacked, he might just have a look at the thousands of thank you gifts he could send in response.

So you are advocating an exchange of mutual destruction just as Albion were about to complete their best season ever ?

Erdogan is in that cabal of politicians of the populist right with suspicious-looking links to the Kremlin dotted around the place who have cropped up over the last decade or so. Similar to the likes of Orban, Trump, Farage, le Pen, Five Star in Italy, Golden Dawn in Greece and so on.

I think back to early on in the war, when it was mooted that Turkey could/should close the straits of Bosphorus at Istanbul, to all Russian military naval traffic, thereby reducing the ability of Russia to pepper Ukraine with missiles from the Black Sea. At the time, I wondered why on earth it took them so long to do it.

I still wonder about that.

Plenty of spreadsheet tanks in warehouses and excel soldiers available to man them.

I suspect a lot of corrupt commanders have used the fog of war to list these non existent vehicles and troops amongst the destroyed and MIA.

Where are those other 10 tanks you had? Oh, they were destroyed near Kharkiv...

A Russian wife turned to her husband and asked, "What's this special military operation our glorious leader keeps talking about?"
Her husband replied, "It's a proxy war between Russia and NATO."
"Oh, right. How's it going?"
"Well," he replied, "so far we've lost 24,000 soldiers, 2,000 tanks, 200 aircraft, numerous helicopters, and loads of armoured vehicles and artillery pieces. and our flag ship along with other naval pieces"
"Wow! What about NATO?"
"They haven't turned up yet”

Watched The World At War yesterday on Stalingrad

The Germans held 9/10ths of the city and were still beaten back

You'd think Putin would know from history, you can't just walk in somewhere and expect the the local population to roll over.

Leningrad today,another history lesson
It showed a short clip of Kiev, who thought at the time, they were being liberated by the Germans

High time Ukraine was left alone to live in peace

Putin has said the West will pay a high price if it imposes an embargo on Russian oil.

Er No, Vlad, we won't be paying anything and you won't be getting any of our money - that's the way embargo's work...
