Bit of a drama that isn't it ?
Always have to bring other countries into it because we're a weak minded nation that can't stand on its own two feet anymore.
Tbf Russia would destroy us within the hour

Well I think the weak response to the Litvinenko poisoning has basically given Putin the green light to carry out more hits. At least in the Litvinenko case they went to some trouble to cover it up, polonium was a substance carefully chosen for its ability to be hard to detect in a person who has ingested it. In this instance it looks like they have been wafting around a nerve agent in salisbury town centre. They basically couldn't give a shit what we think.

Definitely time for us to take a stance and do something or where is it going to end.

Using a weapons-grade nerve agent originating from Russia does seem to be a bit of a blatant calling card. Mind you using polonium also seems a very risky way of despatching past spies.

Their actions in Crimea, Ukraine, Chechyna, Syria, killing off enemies at home and abroad, blatantly interfering in the US election process suggests they don't really give a shit what anyone thinks.

Completely agree we (and our Allies) need to step up the response and get serious.

This is a perfect excuse to withdraw the England team from the World Cup therefore saving them the embarrassment of getting knocked out in the group stages.

Crikey. Not only do you think we should let Putin get away with it, but you also think this is funny? You need to gve your head a massive wobble.
You're engaging with a moron. I'd love to see what his solution is but there's absolutely no way that he will have one apart from "well we would have sorted this out years ago blah blah liberal society (not sure as society might be too big a word for him) blah pathetic left wingers blah".

The mentality is that if we'd stayed in some sort of 1940's stasis then we'd still be ruling the world (we weren't by then obviously) and would have no need for pointless allegiances with other countries. Or something as ludicrous.

It's the world we live in and we and our allies have done far worse in dismantling countries that should have been left alone.
He will get away with it because he's always one step ahead and Europe has no balls and is full of wet blankets.

In the real world it's between us and Russia and nobody else and we all know what the outcome will be.....

Speak for yourself idiot.
It's the mentality of many that think we're untouchable because we're buddies with the USA and Europe and the fact we have a divine right to spread our liberal views across the world and to implement it throughout the world.
If we have a problem with Russia then do something about it instead of begging for support from elsewhere as per normal.

Was the world meant to be dominated and controlled by certain countries?

Although we think that as a species we have developed laws, rules and conventions to make our " civilisation " what it is, ultimately it all is meaningless if someone has a bigger stick than you and, they are prepared to use it.

Just because we believe in collective defence doesn't make us weak. Ever heard of NATO - does being a member make us weak ? It might of escaped your notice that we were unable win WWII without help. We even had assistance from other countries in the Falklands War. Weak my arse.

Lots of support from POTUS I see[emoji848]. Obviously doesn't want to upset his friend, the ex KGB spy.........

I wouldn't normally defend the Trump administration but .....

"Mr Tillerson, who spoke to Foreign Secretary Boris Johnson on the phone about the case on Monday, said the US supported the UK's assessment that Russia was likely responsible.

He added: "We agree that those responsible - both those who committed the crime and those who ordered it - must face appropriately serious consequences.

"We stand in solidarity with our allies in the United Kingdom and will continue to coordinate closely our responses."

He described it as a "really egregious act" and said he had become "extremely concerned" by Russia becoming "more aggressive".

Amazing to think a country can use a weapon of mass destruction/chemical weapon on another country and get away with it.It was quite possible others could have been killed in this attack. How can the goverment make sure this does not happen again and ensure the safety of it's citizens. The absolute disregard of Russia and disrespect towards the UK is mindblowing.

The FA won't do that, too many freeloaders and hangers-on looking forward to their 5 star freebie.

Just been watching RT (Russia Today) news. They talk a really good game, as might be expected. They just stonewall everything. Deny any wrongdoing in Syria, deny any wrongdoing in Salisbury, deny any collusion in Trump election. Call in 'expert witnesses' who you might expect to not back up Russia's case but in fact do (their Salisbury segment had a former CIA guy talking to camera casting doubt on Russian involvement, their collusion piece had a report from the Republican Party clearing Russia of any involvement). It's all smoke and mirrors and pretty fascinating. Equally fascinating is the list of RT advertisers in the commercial break: Now TV, Toolstation, Snickers...

Putin does nothing without reason, I’m sure this was a test of our response and the response of our allies. I’m glad that the PM is all over this, it’s time we stood up to the prick. (*see Russian fighter jets in GB airspace and Russian warships in the Channel for further details).

He's testing the waters, seeing how isolated the UK is internationally.
