Did he REALLY need to bring his staff over to the bench before either team came out so OBVIOUSLY looking for a round of applause? Really? Don't remember a single other manager at Withdean ever doing that - certainly not Russell when he was here.

danny wilson did it when bristol city came down a few years back - and held up a minutes silence by walking as SLOWLY as possible around the pitch

russell deserved every single moment of that applause, as he will with a fuller withdean when they come down for the league game
